I git clone xbmc source code from xbmc official website to 20140512,and did some modify.

It can play 4k/rmvb/h265 video instead of invoking mxplayer.

1.It can play most of different videos, include 4k/rmvb/wmv/mkv/avi/mp4/m2ts/h265 and so on,also support Dolby and DTS.
        2.No video audio aysn issue.
3.No need to root the device.
4.No need to change any settings.

For 4k HW decode,it's not my contribution..

U can git clone the source code(master branch),and input [tig --author=Stanislav*],[email protected] contribute this.

Sounds great, can't wait to try it out, Stanislav work is very promising for the platform M8, for a little more detail of his activity this is the link:

                    Hi there,

Thank you for this, I can't wait to give it a go when I have a chance. If you are going down the route of improving / adding tweaks for our little boxes within XBMC could I ask you consider also integrating the faster switching tweaks that Margro incorporates in his builds?

Study Association E.T.S.V. Scintilla, for Electrical Engineering (EE) at the University of Twente (UT)

I was going to build a little android compiling VM to make them but if you have other tweaks over and above the channel switching then getting them all in one place would be great

                    Cheers

I did some limited testing last night, it worked without any problem for mkv containers with x264 video and dts passthrough with spdif out via the toslink, and mp3 audio tracks. Also tried some avi's with xvid/ac3 audio (passthrough as well) and also played fine, no sync errors or black screen.
One of the good things about using amcodec is that, at least on my perception, video is more crisp than with libstagefright, and becomes more noticeable when scaling up the content to 1080p (connecting using hdmi 1.4 cable to a hk receiver and to a samsung 1080p tv)
The only minor issue I found is that the GUI sounds are way off sync, the GUI event and the actual sound reproduction are separated by several seconds, I didn't have enough time to go through the log and review if there are separated events or to do any troubleshooting.

                          Tks for your testing.
Another big issue is playing video with 2160p HDMI resolution output, the video can't be fullsrceen ,just 1/4 on top left corner.
