mine is ok so far but after what i read on here next time i will buy from amazon a little more money but much less hassle as an aside i tried to find out the real vendor of these boxes by using mac addy turns out to be a company named ampak which in turn is owned by a company named gemtek never heard of them ,no mention of tronsmart i wonder where they fit in

My problem is simple I'm trader shoe. 37 I sell shoes. over 12 years of Chinese-made shoes. never had a claim. no defects. no problems. and a room was $ 120. since May - 2014 as problems . never resolved . and then replies to eric I know by heart. it is always the same.
dear sir eric (geekbuying.com). please you just have to make a youtube video with exact explanation (explication) how to repair. to be able to make a repair by a competent person. To them its a business to make money as fast as possible and if they sell defective products they don't care.

See eventually the name gets so bad they dump it like they did with MCBub and start things up under another name.

They can get away with this because of their location and couldn't care less who they burn.

Whats going to burn them next year is paypal and google have had enough of this and are going to be checking on such companies before letting them do business.

Brand New Tronsmart Vegs S89- H - No HDMI

Hi Guys,

I received my Vega S89-H yestereday, ordered on Friday last week so quite quick. Unfortunately there is no Video signal from the HDMI port.

I can get video via the A/V port but HDMI is totally no go.

Tried attaching to several monitors/TV units all no go, no signal!

Sounds like the dreaded HDMI port issues.

I was very excited about this unit and its been quite a let down having this issue especially when its been a problem for months now.

I've emailed aftersales at Geekbuying but no response at all as yet.


I'll keep you posted on what happens! Pitty as these boxes look as though they perform really well if the HDMI actuall functions - no use with only A/V though.

What makes this even more galling is they just posted that they fixed the hdmi issue back in sept and its no longer affecting anyone.

Basically they are desperately trying to keep things quite about the facts the manufacturing on their end is crap.

Upside is the issue can be fixed with a little soldering by yourself or by someone else if your unsure of your soldering ability.

In all honesty it's not a hard fix. I used a massive antique Radio Shack soldering gun to repair the 4 points. Presoldered the tip, held it on the points, it resolved, and I was good to go.

JTAG the Xbox 360 was much more difficult.

hmm,I ordered this tv box,Hope it is not a problem for me.I will go for a full refund as I have parkinsons and only use of one eye.so soldering is out.and a return and a new one is redundant since it is hit or miss in getting a working unit.so I am waiting a bit unsure about my choice at this moment,If I get a bad one I will get refund and get a minix x8 sometimes you need to pay the extra.we will see.

It seems the new trend in marketing/sales/advertising is trickery lies and deceit.these units should have been pulled from selling.and sent back to maker for better quality control .it would save more money in the long run and be more convenient to the customer,Yet they are sold hoping for a good one or a stupid customer.I tell you all this if I have the least doubt on my unit I will ask for full refund and seller will pay for return shipping back.Geekbuying.com this mess could have been avoided.use this as a model for future mishaps.
