I received mine in the evening.

Took it for a quick test drive and I like what I am seeing so far.

i had to pay 35€ cash, which is nothing compared to the power this device offers

my last device was UG007 and this is some major upgrade

it comes with a great launcher, called light launcher, i saw people asking for this kind of launcher in other threads.

1080p didnt seem to work, my tv reported 1080p but i had big black borders..
lucky there is some screenscale settings and i needed to adhust the settings

i successfully connected my bluetooth mouse (which didnt work on the ug007) and im goin to install the essential apps now

spdif passthrou is working for sound.. lets see if i get some dolby digital
wow the its acting kinda crazy, normal sound is working also in video files,
the r89 comes with 4 media players:
            -video player
            -google gallery
            -ehomemedia center
            -xbmc

only xbmc was able to play the audio on ac3 file, but my receiver didnt show dolby digital
the other 3 player produce static noise on ac3 audio.
im goin to try some more files..

rkremote v1.1.0 app doesnt work :/ i guess thats why they pulled it from playstore,
            i found a mirror here http://tabletrepublic.com/forum/andr...html#post31282
(edit: omg after 5min waiting for the device to show up my ug007 shows up again i love this app, it didnt do that for a long time xD, still waiting for the rk89 to pop up)

find version 2 of rkremote here

the r89 shows up instantly, thats great i saw people wanting some ir remote or 2,4 ghz remote in other threads.. use this app on your smartphone or tablet and you dont need any other remote

i tried a movie from popcorntime, which killed the android os, couldnt click anything.. had to reboot :/ but it was the first time i ever tried the app on any device.. after reboot bluetooth mouse was lost
Please, can you use the existing separate threads for the separate points? THX

This Update made my box unusable

I can't go "Home" anymore. Right after booting up, it will only show constant flashing of the android default "dark grey gradient" background, as if an app was constantly starting and crashing. There's no way to do anything useful with it

The navbar is still working, so I can shut down the box and acces the "Recent Apps". While the recent apps are shown, I can access the status bar and go to the settings. I tried choosing different default launchers, but nothing made the home screen come up again. Any advice how to solve this?

Received mine today ended up with the UBOX 8gb version so no dual WiFi which is a bit of a shame but very happy nevertheless, not much time for tinkering today, but first impressions are it's a great little box, very quick and responsive and a great design, software and hardware. Have come across a few minor bugs already that I'll elaborate on once I've had more time to resolve but initial impressions are great. Have put off the ota update for now untill others report back on if they've applied it successfully...
