When I came home today I found that the R89 was extremely hot. All 4 cores was at 100% and CPU frequency 1.8GHz for no apparant reason.

I did record it with my phone:

Looks like that Watson app you quit after xbmc was at fault, next time try to fire up osmonitor and check what process causes high cpu load

Hi there, the "another guy in Israel " is probably me

I've got it, a little bit late but it's here. It came without any remote control, unfortunately. Not a very big deal, but I'm unable to test any remote control - related functionality... A few quick starter notes:

                  * My main issue is some kind of freezes the box is going through (with latest FW), they happen to occur randomly here and there for half of second or so, during the freeze the system is completely unresponsive (i.e. mouse moving stops, sound stops, image freezes, etc.) then everything is resumed. It seems not related to specific app (happened just @launcher doing nothing, @XBMC playing movie, @pandora listening to music, etc). It also seems not related to CPU consumption (enabled cpu monitoring in debug settings and didn't observe any interesting circumstances before/during the freeze). For me it's kind of unusable as a media player till I'll successfully dig out the reason for that. Working on it, through, and will be more than happy to get any suggestions about that

                  * OTA functionality works fine and version was updated immediately after first run.
                  * The included power supply unit (EU) makes some kind of very uncomfortable high-pitch noise, very hard to hear but makes you feel uncomfortable at the near area. Blind-tested that on my GF and it's true Using it with the PSU from my X7 makes it non-issue, but still, I suggest not to sell it with the same PSU.
                  * WIFI finds only my 5GHZ network and not the 2.4 one, while X7, for example, find both. The speed of the 5GHZ, however, is blazing fast and the best I've seen on ANY android device so far.
                  * The very small icons problem we all had with 1080p were fixed with latest update and it's fine now, no need to adjust DPI.
                  * The HDMI pass-through weren't fixed despite the changelog - having the same hiss coming out of my speakers when setting XBMC (tested both the supplied one and SPMC) when passthrough is enabled. My setup is hdmi-connected amplifier ( R89<-HDMI->PIONEER<-HDMI->TV). The same setup works fine with X7.
*Overall it's quite stable, didn't have a single self-reset for example. The video-playing performance (except the first issue I've mentioned) is also fine, tried about 20 720p and 1080p movies without (another) problems.
                  * The micro-sd card slot is IMHO not very good decision as I can't just use my SD from the x7 and have to buy another one. For a new users it's however a non-issue, probably.
                  * My KR400 Logitech Keyboard works fine as it always did.

                  * More thing to come after more testing

Same problem with audio, using Pioneer receiver sc-2022.
Edit: after update that is, no change

Can this be patched by software? Or only by hardware?

Do you have many remotes connected to the Beelink when it freezes half second? Minix x8h has random reboots if I connect 2 or more remotes at same time. The reboots goes away if only 1 remote is connected.

Nope, only the kr400 Logitech keyboard, no remote at all (they forgot to send me even the stock one, so no remote at all literally )

All beta testing devices came without reamote and av cable due to not being available when sending the devices. Oman clearly stated this before sending us the Beelinks.

Some of us have the S89, and that remote works on this box. I think that's how others were able to mimic remote settings.
