We are sure to maintain this device to such as Android L or newer ,only if RK release it..

And I dont think the community or other ROM devs can port new android to this device..

Just an opinion.
I think we'll plan to design the square/rectangle case...

But the world should be full of variety

I certainly do hope these issues are being noted by Oman and modifications will be made for the final retail product. Fanless devices need proper thermal airflow design, large high quality heat sinks fastened properly with quality heat sink paste to allow the unit to handle the worst case scenario for it's intended use such as high end game playing for hours.
We'll improve that..about the slots and ports, bottom pads..

Easy way to catch LOG -> Search 'Syslog' in Google Play, then install it and catch log

This is due to how rockchip deals with source code?

I have seen this test. I am impressed with the RK3288 which appears to be more powerful per clock cycle and runs much cooler than the AML S802 at the same clock speeds. I am happy to hear you will improve the case design.

yes, I am tempted to sell my S802 and buy an RK3288 instead.

After pestering a friend to solder cables onto the tiny serial pads for me, I now also had a bit of time to build a preliminary devicetree file for the R89 and boot a more recent kernel on it http://pastebin.com/VXrLhYhB .

Functionality-wise it is of course at the same level as the other boards ... basic peripherals up to cpu frequency scaling. No video nor audio yet, but there are already basic drm-patches for the video-output controllers pending on the mailinglists.

just did it, sold my beelink m8 (round red box) and bought the r89 (ubox 16gb). still waiting to get it delivered ...

BTW: I don't have the same problems to plug the cables to the ports (normally I do it once and never again ) but the SD Card slot is a "fun generating" part (some short stress moments "where is my SD Card" )...
You can always use bluetack lol its cheap and it works and allows that extra wonderful Airflow.

Oman, is there anything particular you need us to test now?
Except the Google Music app everything is really good for me. My Minix X8-H is not, a bit ironic when it comes to earlier trashing in this thread from the same company.

                              109k4

I am running the 109k4 F/W and so far video playback is not bad but when i start or pause and play video from my nas htere is a querky audio noise that goes for about 1.5 seconds. and also i have to keep clicking on the keyboard options and turning off hardware keyboard every time i start up the r89. and when i click on a link to watch on xbmc sometimes the r89 reboots it happened to me about 10 times now.

is there anything else you would like me to test oman?? i got the dualband AC router is there anything on that you would like me to test my friend.
