So I tried to backup and restore (from stock 101k4 to Finless 1.6) and it's almost perfect. Only most/all system settings are lost, a few deep customizations, root rights specific to each app, and one app I had to reinstall (sshdroid, probably because of key)
Except this 5-10min effort, everything personalized is still there, as well as every apps still working as expected.

Thanks for that, I'll less hesitate about updating in the future
Last update I used titanium backup. most everything came back, but XBMC Repo's, add ins, etc needed to be reloaded - I assume this is normal for XBMC??

People saying its working for the s802-h have you tested this with dts/dolby hardware processing ?

I just received mine today looking forward to getting it rooted

              Miracle ROM?

Well guys for context: With several ROMs my box was limping on just one core. Processor temperature was over 80 degrees Celcius at idle. Antutu scores never got over 13k while running only one core. With the Finless CPU patch I got all cores running, temps still around the same topping at 93, Antutu scores around 25k.

I just installed Finless 1.6 and to my surprise, temps haven't reached more than 75 degrees (just one peak) and Antutu now gives me 31k. I'm still using stock 104k4 CPU settings, cores are being shut down to sleep when not in use, from 96 to 1992Mhz. All this enhancement was done just by ROM installation.

Now, is it really possible that a box that was overheating with any ROM and with several different CPU configurations now goes around 20 degrees centigrade cooler?

Can anyone check the chip temperature with this ROM?

I'm still going to try extra-cooling modifications (Enzotech CNB-R1 on the way) but I'm pretty impressed and somewhat skeptical of this results.

What ap are you using for temps?

Will that heat sink fit in the case it looks a little on the tall side?

104K4 had a major update regarding the CPU thermals & throttling, so yes, many people will experience better stability & themal management.
Good to hear it solved your problem!

I'm using CpuTemp application, which allows an overlay at the top of the screen so I can constantly monitor temp, ranging from 40 to 75 degrees. I checked the readings of the application and they were matching the /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone1/temp file.

That heatsink is huge. I'll make a hole at the top of the box to make it fit, or make the box fit the heatsink

There is an option to push on titanium... Go preferences, save external data apps, choose always.
                      That's it.

Do I have to install CPU patch again after I install this ROM?

Which 'hole to hole distance' do you need?
I think you have to open the case, so maybe it is enough to open the case?

If you use for temperature monitoring this

you also able to monitor the cpu usage/throttling... what result do you get?

have just flashed this on my box. i have ordered the standard version and the guys from mebo company on aliexpress sent me the -h!! excellent!! no problems so far will report and test dts-hd passthrough on xbmc etc. I am wondering whether the hardware can also decode dts-hd and not just the standard dts audio.

Also, the cpu fix i have noticed increases the minimum cpu frequency? does that governor really make the box more responsive or faster? seems pretty good to me with stock governor and i get antutu score 31450!
