I don't think Google Movies are supported on this device. It requires a Google certified device IMHO 😮

I can confirm the Black Screen Bug on the M82 (1G/8G) MXIII.
Tested a Shaun the Sheep freebe Bid that Google has put up.
The Sound works fine, But the Video will not display for some reason.

              MXIII 1g

Would anyone happen to have the latest firmware for the MXIII 1g? My box has stopped working. The screen freezes during boot up. None of the firmware downloads that I've found so far have worked.

Please help this is extremely frustrating.

              Thnx!

You'll find latest (110) FW for both 2GB and 1GB versions here:

Since the last couple of Updates (Show Box), I have to agree the profomance is getting somewhat better.
Its not as great as I'd like it to be... Seeing as I have a fresh 50Meg VDSL Line that just had installed.
And, Live Video is also jumpy as Hell! (XBMC --- Specifically USTVNow -- specifically during US Football on Sundays!)
It could just be that the Stream is getting hammered HARD!

Or it could be that the MXIII wasn't tuned correctly at the Factory?!:
Issue Ethernet connection is slower than expected, and as a consequence if IPTV Streams are greater then >10Mbps then Video studders... (Sounds like "Jumpy Video" to me!)

The Thread (With some proposed "Fixes"):

                  http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?14139-IPTV-streams-gt-10-Mbps-video-audio-stuttering&p=199314&viewfull=1#post199314

I've tried, and applied these "Fixes" to two different MXIII's (Both of the 1G AP6181 Variety). The performance has seemed to improve... Somewhat USTVNow, doesn't lag nearly as much during the course of the Week as it had done.
As to whether or not it'll improve the quality of the Stream again on Sunday is something I'm still looking forward to seeing.

Going back to Show Box for a Second... I'd wish they'd update the blasted thing to allow me to Pause the Video, and pick it back up again after a time. Without it crashing back to the Menu Screen. Its very annoying when someone rings you up while your trying to watch a Film, or an Hour long Show.

Very simple... The Stock 1G/8G Models should have originally shipped with a custom 108k4. If you go by some of the Reports here. It seems like that Version was, and continues to be the best for Netflix Playback. Problem is... Being a custom Stock ROM. If you failed to make a backup of it... Which is a bit more difficult given the lack of a CWM Recovery. Then its basically 109k4 or bust!

The most "Up-to-date" Version of the Firmware for the M82 - (1G/8G), MXIII w/AP6181 really is the 109k4! End of list.

Yes you can apparently find some versions of the 110k4, that seemed to have been modified to work on the 1G/8G RTL8188?! / AP-6181 (seems more likely), of the MXIII.

The rub here is that, that "Update" (e.g. 110k4), doesn't do jack all for those either with the RTL or AP Chips.
The 110k4 ONLY FIXED a borked Bluetooth stack on some 2G/8G Models! There wasn't to my understanding ANY OTHER CHANGES MADE! At least regarding the MXIII

So as I understand it heres the breakdown of how the Firmware looks.

                      107k4 - Stock RTL8188 Firmware. (e.g. The "Base" Firmware)
108k4 - This One came in two flavorers. One for the stock RTL WiFi Chip, and the other that came as Stock with the AP Chip. Sadly for those of us with the said AP Chip. Only the RTL Update, from 107k4 actually exists! (e.g. 108k4 for RTL8188 ONLY!)
109k4 - Is likely the same thing as the 108k4. But ONLY FOR THOSE with the AP-6181 (e.g. It only addresses a Hardware change) As far as I know those with the RTL Chip can NOT use this Version, and continue to use WiFi. Quite the reverse of installing the 108k4 on AP-6181!
110k4 - Is again is likely only due to a hardware change in the 2G/8G Version's Bluetooth Chip.

Some of the above is only speculation on my part! I have it on very good authority about the 110k4 though. That it was only a Bluetooth "fix" on some 2G Models that were having connection problems.

Supposedly the Next version (Cheaper Hardware Components aside!!), 111k4 / 112k4?! Should start addressing the more real issues of the amcodec (Player?!). Following such developments I'm under the impression that Minix has already gotten that far. So an Update shouldn't be that far along now. I guess well have to wait till Oman gets 'round to working on it. I gather hes been busy working on (or with), other Hardware at the moment.

The moral (As such), with this story is newer (Or, larger Numbers), isn't always better.
Given all what I've seen from this Site alone. It probably would be best to stick with 108k4 (and, if possible BACK IT UP!). Otherwise just stick to 109k4. As again 110k4 though "Mostly Harmless" isn't really an Update that 1G/8G users need!

Do you know if the 2G is capable of 802.11a/ac/n? Like which AP Chip it uses? I seem to find myself in some confusion as to whether or not the 2G actually has the AP6330 Chip in it, or not. And even if it a "Device" had it.. That it still might be locked out of that Mode.

A little something I wasn't really aware of when I got my 1G Model last month. To be fair though I was only expecting a/n @ 5Ghz, and not ac. The lack of which I find to be very disappointing. Along with the fact that the 1G doesn't even have Bluetooth. Something I really do miss in fact!

At this point.. Not knowing any better I'm currently considering picking up a Minix Neo x8h Plus sometime after the New Year. It seems that Fleabay is full of Idiots right now, looking for other "Idiots" thinking they can flog a 1G MXIII for the price of a standard Neo x8 at the moment. Or ~ca. 130.00€. Like that's gonna happen NOT!

So I'm kinda hoping that these eTailers will regain some sanity again Once Christmas is over with.

Oddly enough.... Its really only the 1G/8G MXIIIs that are only that insanely priced though. The 2G (If you can find 'em!) are going for ~75-ish €'s the Minix's were never really that cheap to start with. But, from what I can tell haven't been marked up like anything I've seen for the 1G/8G MXIIIs....

Finless 2.0 rom is based on a stock Beelink rom that suffers from the AML video codec issues ... 108K4 for on MXIII is where it's at for Netflix. The rest is MX Player for me, never thought I would say it. Don't like MX Player but it works for now. Need a stock video player nothing fancy.

Come on Beelink ... Need some Xmas present 😄😜😜😉😋

For a Video Player I find that VLC generally gets the Job done... If you'd had asked me about a Month, and a half ago I'd have said MX Player without any hesitation. But the last few "Updates", have felt more like degrades to me. And though I can still downgrade If I'm not careful to block it. It just upgrades anyway. It probably doesn't help that the Custom CODEC Pack at XDA doesn't seem to work that well either since these Updates began.

No VLC is far from my idea of Ideal. But, it does at least work!
Which is more then I can say of MX Player for the moment.

@Ichjoe I also feel that it's gone downhill for MX Player. I will try VLC Player ... I don't like XBMC so much. Even if they just strengthen the codecs with the 4K player that's fine. My old M3 still plays videos flawless that has 1 CPU core opposed to 4 CPU cores. If this keeps up I'm buying a Realtek device. 3D BD ISO support and hopefully no 24 HZ issues.
