I test my usb-hdd on OTG port, the model is :

And it works..Maybe you can test the usb mouse on OTG port whether it works?

Yes,you are right, when power off the box,the HDD is still running..both on OTG and HOST usb port..I test it on my PC,when PC goes into hibernate, the HDD is also running..

That means the HDD will be running only if it gets 5V power..I didnt test other HDDs..For now,I dont know how to fix this.
Easy way to catch LOG -> Search 'Syslog' in Google Play, then install it and catch log

Is it possible to spoof the device, installed with this firmware, so I can install more apps?
My device is rooted using FINLESS root zip update.

I ended up providing my own webview to the project which fixed the issue for me. There is obviously an issue with the original webview amlogic provides. Anyway looks like I will go this route since it seems to do better across different versions. Thanks.

Thanks for your hard work Oman. Unfortunately I'm having trouble with my air mouse. It used to with the previous box and now just a couple of button work. The keyboard doesn't work at all! Any suggestions? I've see you've included the mele air mouse support, could it be that all others don't work anymore?

          Thanks

            Same problem here.
I have actually installed Android 4.4.2 with 108k4 on my Tronsmart Vega S89-H.
My HDD connected via USB is not turning off at all. I have to disconnect it from usb or manually power off HDD. This is just ridiculous. These are very basic things. I can't believe that such underdeveloped devices are in shops. Is possible to resolve this USB issue somehow (firmware) or this is hardware issue?

Also hdmi is giving power all the time. Not so big issue like with USB, however it is a problem for someone who is using HDMI switch on one of hdmi inputs for tv.

Next thing i did was clear cache, tried again and nada; wiped data, nada; uninstalled and re-installed apk, nada; i enabled all 4 apps i had disabled nada; reinstalled Launcher 3 i had removed, nada. I have no idea what else to try now. I don't know what got corrupted in there.

Here is what i got from xbmc log:

Don't know if that will help as i don't see errors in there. I just hope i dont have to re-install the firmware and start from 0 again
Finally after re-flahing the firmware and restoring my apps with Titanium Backup many tmes i found what the problem was!!!

It results that when i restore or download from play store 2 particular apps with or without data using TiBu and then try to access Android Apps menu within XBMC, it crashes inmediately. If i uninstall those apps then i am able to access Android Apps again. I have no idea WHY XBMC IS HAVING CONFLICT WITH THOSE APPS, so please Oman check that out and hopefully you or Stane can fix it.

I'm very sure that there must be many other apps that will have the same conflict with xbmc....

I think it's PCB design fault and USB ports are always powered. I found that leaving device always-on allows HDDs to enter lower-saving mode and spin down. Alternatively you could use powered USB hub with switches that could switch off every port. Those are workarounds though and I would love to hear if there is possible firmware fix for this problem.

Same here. In 108k4 device is losing ethernet connection after turning off.
But maybe I will try some other FW like Finless 1.8 / 1.9.

My HDD is not turning off in any device mode (suspend, power off).
It is Seagate Backup Plus 3 TB. This is not a real solution I guess, such usb hub.
Its no difference will I come and turn off HDD manually or in this hub. In both cases I need to get up from bed, come to tv. If there is no other solution I will just sell this shit.

                    Is any other device which:
                    1) has no problem with playback any files in XBMC
                    2) no problem with AC3 / DTS passthrough (can be in XBMC)
                    3) is turning off from remote and is turning off USB power
What about Minix or other ?

I personally dont understand the last few complaints. Why is turning your HD off such a big deal, or why is it so difficult to walk a few feet and turn it off. You can always get a clapper to clap it on and off. Personally im glad USB power is active on power off and suspend so i can charge my remote when I'm not using my device (far more important). I seriously can't believe you are thinking of selling your device because you have to walk a few feet to turn another device off.

As far as XBMC not being able to open 2 apps, how hard is it to make an icon on your home screen so you can exit from XBMC (or just go to your home screen) to open that app. If you want to make it even easier you can probably download a keymap editor to map a specific key on your keyboard to open the app. I promise you that XBMC devs are working on far more important things such as hardware compatibility and android system stabilization rather than working on fixing two apps that most people don't use.

I'm very happy with the number of devs working on the s802 devices and happy with all of the hard work they are doing for little money. I feel bad when I see posts of such minor complaints when so much has been improved since 101k4.

Sorry guys but we live in XXI century. Facts are facts. Somebody screwed up here.
Everyone have their priorities. I am watching movies before I go sleep so at end I am usually very sleepy and I don't want to get up and go anywhere to disconnect everything, I have remote for this. Please don't try explain this by need to charge remote etc, you can do it everywhere (pc, laptop, phone charger with usb etc). Normal device should have both modes or at default - usb with power off when device is turned off. This is tv box which have only USB for external HDD's, not internal, so HDD can't turn off like it should. Every other tv boxes or blu rays which I had before didn't have such problems. Most funny is that these are basic things. This is not software/firmware (I guess) problem and I really appreciate that people work on this. But facts are facts. We have 2014 year and from long time standard is 24hz for blu-ray movies. This should be also implemented in first versions which showed up in shop. Not only some months/years later in custom firmwares made by some users with passion and knowledge. Agree or not, I have right to say my opinion. I am normal user and maybe I don't need 90% things or tricks implemented in this device, I just want normal media center, with XBMC working and normal, friendly interface. But I never expected that I will have to go and turn off manually my external disk
To be honest I can buy 2x slower device with normal functionality. I spent 120$ for one of fastest tv box (32k in antutu score) to have comfort for few years ahead but I didn't expect that one simple thing will screw it up. If this USB power is not fixable I will search something other. My comfort is more important.

"You can always get a clapper to clap it on and off." - I don't know exactly what do you mean. Can you provide me a link to buy something like that ?

2014 and when buying China devices you expect future shop quality and it simply doesn't exist. The unit consumes as much as a cell phone but it will be looked at by software development for beeline as he's aware of it. I've had rants at windows and never gotten a reply or reason why somethings screwed in that operating system but here your concerns where actually looked at. Beeline has been very proactive with updates. Sell if you wish but don't think you will find any other China TV box with this level of support.

                              Regards.
