Proof that you're never to old to learn. Sometimes too old to remember though.

1. build.prop (I modified country codes after installation).
2. init.d support
3. platform.xml
4. gps.conf (I deleted it after installation because it does not work in my country)
5. a couple of system apps removed (I further removed the 3D Weather Widget and Google Keyboard)
I noticed that the modded ROM runs smoother than the stock one. For example, the Google voice search no longer stuck. Any hints on what changes have made the improvement?
In addition, the mobile network signal icon on the status bar is very ugly. Is it possible to replace it with the AOSP KitKat white icon?
By the way, I've got used to the standard big button theme of TWRP. Would you help compile a new version (2.7.1.0) using the standard theme?
Thanks!

About TWRP.
And unless there is a big difference between version 2.7.0.0 and 2.7.1.0 TWRP? Porting recovery very difficult, I spent a lot of time on the version 2.7.0.0. If you have time, I'll try to port 2.7.1.0.

Meaurements?
Looks to be a great tab. Would someone share the actual dimensions, height & width ...no worry on how thin it is (easy to see very thin).
Thanks. This may turn to be a replacement for my Pipo M8 Pro, if it is close to same physical size. Still love my Pro, but the 3188 is getting a bit dated.Cube T9; Pipo M8 Pro (on life support); LG gPad

Thought I'd share some thoughts on ergonomics (as a former Nexus 10 user):- If the bevel were smaller you would actually cover/touch the screen by accident which would be annoying. As is it seems a pretty decent size which gives you plenty of screen while keeping device size down.
- After the super-rounded and smooth Nexus 10 it feels a little "sharp" and also heavy. But you quickly get used to that and it's certainly a well built device.
- The matte metal back plate is quite nice to the touch and gives good friction when you hold the tablet.
- The Power and volume buttons wiggle a little - well, more like, the covers of those buttons wiggle a little. The buttons themselves seem quite resistive - as in it takes some force to push them, you probably won't power this on or off by accident (but also changing volume is a bit annoying).
- On arrival it had temp protective film on the front and on the back and a 2nd "proper" very tightly fitting screen protector on the front. This wasn't perfectly applied and had some air bubbles and also was terrible to the touch so I peeled that off and after a good wipedown of the surface become a lot more pleasant to use.
- The bottom (or side) facing speakers aren't terrible, but aren't that good either. Get quite screechy on the last three volume steps. Everything's great through earphones, though. Those get LOUD.
Feel free to ask if you have any more practical questions.

I bought the M8 Pro and love the size ...much easier to handle than my iPad 2. The Cube is the same size as my Pro ...bigger screen ...thinner to boot! Wow!
Looks to to be a winner. Never bought a Cube. May take a leap of faith soon!
Edit to ask. The measurements ...did you actually use a ruler, and not just give specs from a spec table. Hate to ask ...but had to make sure!Last edited by BamaPanda; 22 July 2014, 05:22.Cube T9; Pipo M8 Pro (on life support); LG gPad

Is this normal?
Or is mine faulty?

Besides the sound quality I like the tablet. The rooting process needed some finesse because the drivers for it didn't really want to install on my 8.1 windows, so had to get another computer... I flashed the tablet on a windows 7 machine and everything went fine...
I am missing the chrome browser tho.

This sound is coming out of the tablet, music of Pinball Arcade... Volume on 75%.
I can't beleive this is normal O-o

I know my M8 Pro was better before I had to send it in for repair. Once returned, my left speaker was not the same ...sounds much like your example. I am making a choice to just live with it, though.
I wish you well.Cube T9; Pipo M8 Pro (on life support); LG gPad

I've tried to use your update through modrecovery, using the zip file renamed as 'update.zip' on the external card.
But I just got an error message.
(My tablet is not rooted.)
