Is there anyway to have the navigation bar enabled in your rom bob? I'm not sure if I can achieve this in your rom or if I need to edit the systemui. Is it possible? On my m8 with the stock rom or your rom I cannot access it unless I enter an app like kodi then i can grab up with my mouse to see the bar. I would like to know how this is done. For knowledge reasons and also for future if I need it. Greatly appreciate your rom
Thanks alot

M8 wake up issue when using WIFI temp solution
Yesterday, 08:36 PM
As most of you know there are so many Excellent ROMs out there that got spoiled by the fact the M8 freezes after waking up from sleep when using wifi. In my case it gets sluggish and then reboots and hangs there until i unplug and plug back the power. i just realized that there is a simple workaround for this issue. I turn off the wifi before i put the box into standby mode. When i turn it back on i manually turn the wifi on. Doing this solved this issue for me. I just wish if someone can write a script to automate this process.
Perhaps you can look into this. It seems to work.

Hi, been using your rom for a few days now, works really good imo, i bought the box and went straight to openelec which has worked pretty well for me for quite some time but i needed to hop over to android to get a specific iptv addon working and decided your build was the one to do it with.. im outputting 4k from the box flawlessly on my TV and im happy about that. one thing that worked really well for me in Openelec was CEC control, i have 4 colored buttons and 2 others i used as back and menu in KODI using the custom keyboard addon to generate my remote file. im not having such luck with my LG smart remote with your build, CEC works but im limited to directions and back key, when i use that addon with your build KODI recognizes the different keys but the 4 colored buttons still dont do anything and the menu and back buttons do the same thing regardless of how they are set (back command) . i have looked at the keyboard file it generates and all looks good. any ideas on something i can try to get this working?
thanks again too, i always shyed away from android but your build seems to run really well and i can use the box for so much more on android. just wish i could get my cec working better.

If anyone can write a script that shuts off Wi-Fi before powering down the box, this solves the issue of the device freezing and rebooting after waking from standby.
Try it it works. Turn off Wi-Fi under settings mbox then power down the unit. When you power it back on just check the Wi-Fi box to reconnect and enjoy.

So far so good. I've flashed this to my OTT M8 and it's sorted my previous android issues out, namely random freezes, crashes when watching certain 1080 streams in xbmc. I previously installed a xbmc community build that didn't function properly but now it does. XBMC is faster and smoother also.
I've only been using it for an hour or so but I'm very impressed and would defo recommend others give it a go

Hello, this is my first post but hopefully it can help someone who has a square m8 like me. I actually bought 2 of them from different sources but i made sure they both said ott on the box and the model number under the box is "M8" on both boxes. 1 of them took finless 1.8 like a champ while the other first bricked my wifi and then bricked my entire box when i tried to reflash to something else. heres the info. ott m8 square 2gb ram 8gb storage "5 usable" stock 4.4.2 rom build 2015.0519. this rom took finless and it all seemed fine at first glance but the wifi got stuck turning on in an infinite loop. clicking on advanced showed me there was definitely a problem because the mac address was "unknown" and ip was "unknown" this lead me to believe that the wifi driver was somehow not recognized because there should be a mac addy present at the very least.
since the build was fairly new 2015.0519 and every other build that i could find & download was lower than this, i downloaded all sorts of builds maybe 8 in total and those that booted up fully gave me the same dead wifi issue and my original twrp nandroid was corrupt so i lost the ability to revert to stock. i was in a bad spot and i was about to solve my problem with a 2.5 pound sledge hammer if you know what i mean. but i reasoned that maybe they are using newer wifi chips in these new boards so i cracked it open and saw that the board number was M9&M8_V0.92 201/03/12. i didnt learn anything from that step but i just wanted to get the numbers for the sake of being thorough. all the chips were samsung and hynix inside.
I decided that if my hunch was correct about a new wifi chipset i needed to find a rom with at least the same version 2015.0519 or newer. if theres 1 thing i can brag about and 1 thing only its that im a google ninja. i start zeroing in on keywords like the terminator and after about 150 pages of dead ends i found that my rom was not available online but some chinese website posted an even newer one for a square m8 box build 20150617 ! i got excited and gave it a go.
heres a link to the rom http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/downl...-tv-box-2.html
guess what? it worked. I cant have finless for now but i got my box back up and running to stock with wifi now working and the advanced tab shows that i have both a valid mac and an ip. my only gripe with this rom is that is is unfixed and has that dreaded wretched cursed from hell sd card read only setting and modifying the platform.xml wont fix it. i even copied a known good platform.xml from the finless 1.8 rom and still no go. even with root access and mounting the file system with r/w permissions es file explorer cannot modify anything on the sd card. internal card and usb flash drives are fine but the sd card is read only locked. anyway i have a hunch that this new version build will work for older boxes and also newer boxes with new wifi chips but i leave that to more knowledgeable minds cause i barely know what im doing.
i hope this post can help somebody who needs it. and if you can solve the sd card read only problem for me please let me know. oh yea for those who are fully bricked with no recovery just copy all the files inside the archive to the root of your sd card. you should be able to see recovery.img and a bunch of other files on the root. once you do that unplug the power to your box, hold the reset button and plug the power back in. after a few seconds release the reset button and you should see the android recovery icon. let it sit until it's done. at the end you might have to pull the power to reset but it was all working fine for me after that. hope this helps someone. hit me back if you got info on my sd problem.

i managed to modify my finless rom which had no wifi after installation by taking a working rom and opening it up in 7zip and extracting the /system/etc/wifi folder i then deleted the wifi folder inside the finless rom and added the wifi folder that i extracted from the working rom. but when i tried flashing finless it gave me a signature verification failure.
probably because i modded the rom. so i downloaded twrp and flashed with that bypassing signature verification. i now have an awesome running finless 1.8 with full working wifi. my only issue is that the default display setting is too large for my tv so i set it at 92. but on every reboot it resets back to 100. it just wont save. anyone with any ideas why?
by the way dont do what i did unless you are prepared to deal with a brick. modding a rom is dangerous.
