NEW - Finless 1.8 for EM8 Square Box

I just install the rom for my box m8 using option 2 from read me first and then I finish doing the update, 1080p image stayed fixed on TV and does not respond to anything, as I can fix this?

I've got the same problem, any solution?

I went into recovery without the SD card in, did wipe data/factory reset, still no go. Even tried update from EXT then pointed it to the zip file. Installs fine but just boots to the pretty 1080p screen and stays there forever

I tried other roms, they all boot perfectly (i.e. ENY from Stane). Primary reason I want to try Finless is because I'm having a weird HDMI audio issue. The sound works when selecting the menu items but whenever I try and play a video (i.e. in popcorn time app) I get no sound

Any idea on how to fix the boot problem?

Here some questions..
The remote control has miss alignment key (home =volume), do you know where is located the mapping of the remote control?
Also is there any program that allow to access directly to the Android settings?
Idem to see task manager... Right now I am using recent application to perform such task
I am using mx player to watch streaming local video from my synology... Does exist a better player for streaming
Last point does exist a better file manager with network access...

By The way really good rom.. I remove xbmc by kordi and use some other tweak to manage memory..
Once more time thanks for the rom.. Could you in future integrate French language too

Anyone getting worse video quality? I'm noticing some grain/noise on HD video footage which were not present in stock rom I think. Anyone?

I tried every possible method to install Finless's rom but nothing works. Maybe a change in the latest stock rom prevents it. It looks for a file signature.

Did the flashing like in instructions but now the bootscreen "A Finless Bob Rom..." is just freezing...
Anyone the same Problem?

Ps.: Dont use this ROM until Finless or anyone else can fix or find out the reason for the frozen loadscreen problem!!!
My M8 is broken now, no response, no powerlight...

Hi good morning, I updated my box serial finless 1.8 and stayed also in 1080p screen frozen after that try installing the finless version 1.6 and now he has been dead ... It does nothing I plug to the power and not turn on the light and nothing comes on TV. I would like to know if there is solution to this before passing the time to Devoler

Somebody please respond, this rom has a few weird issues, First is I can't flash any zip in recovery, says failed to mount..



Second is when I reboot the device, the Google Play Store, Google calendar, and google calendar storage start to keep force closing, The weird thing is I tried to go to /system/priv-app/PhoneSky.apk and reinstall it there and it worked, but as you reboot the device again the Store keep force closing again, the other two calendar apps I disabled because I don't use them, but Google Play is my every day use app...what the hell is going on???
Anyone know how to fix this nonsense???
Any suggestions appreciated!

Edit: Appeared to fix the apps myself, the mounting problem with inability to flash zips still remain, waiting for some smart person to figure this out...

bob, thanks for your efforts on these roms. i have a bit of a troubleshooting question and i wonder if you would know the reason here.

so, i have projector that is pretty picky about the hdmi sources it eats. basically i have been running finless 1.7 and had a great working picture. now i tried to migrate to lifeforce's new rom but i get no picture on the pj (my other display works fine). then i tried finless 1.8, but no picture there either. back to 1.7 and everything works fine.

my question is, has something changed in the hdmi/display code in the kernel from 1.7 -> 1.8, since there definitely seems to be a difference in my case. secondly, would there be a way to have the display part from 1.7 in these other roms as well so i could upgrade to another one?

i should also say that none of the bootloaders/recoveries give picture on my pj, only finless 1.7 when it boots into the rom. so that is my only saviour in this case :-)

Hey guys, does the app sixaxis not work with this rom? ive got my ps3 controller connected via a wire but was hoping for wireless via bluetooth? not sure if i read that it wont work with aml boxes, thanks alot. p.s the rom is great, just what i wanted, I like the old school android screen. Instead of using launchers all the time.
