NEW - Finless 1.8 for EM8 Square Box

I have just installed the finless 1.8 ROm. It installs correctly but when it reboots it just shows the Finless Bob 1.8 Rom screen and stops there....

installed the boot.img update successfully on a working version of Finless 1.8. Rebooted from recovery, Finless logo, then nothing, just a black screen

edit: tried same procedure on a fresh install of Finless1.8 and worked.

thing is finless 1.8 didnt brick it..but I tried to flash and amlogic oem firmware and now its dead...
Where can I buy safely a box which is compatible with finless roms??

Steps to change acceleration to software and multi thread on:
1. open XBMC/Kodi
2. got system/settings/video/acceleration
3. change decoding method to software and just below that is the setting to enable multi thread

Anther setting that helped me is setting android background processes to no background processes.

Steps:
1. On android goto settings/about device
2. click on build number until developer options are enabled
3. next in android settings/developer options, scroll down to limit background processes
4. set that to no background processes

Great ROM.. Been playing with it over the past few days..

Forgive me if this has been asked before though but I can't get XBMC to output audio to 5.1 channels

I have all the correct settings:
1. Number of channels 5.1
2. Passthrough enabled.
3. Dolby Digital enabled
4. DTS enabled.

Is there something I'm missing?

I have tried to search the forum in case this topic has come up but was not able to find anything. Could someone point me in the right direction?

1080P playback is brilliant. No stuttering or jerkiness. If I can get the audio correct then this would be the perfect ROM/XBMC setup.

I did a fresh install of Bob's 1.8 rom and used the permissions fix then installed gotham from xbmc.org but still got freezing problems when playing movies.I uninstalled xbmc and installed spmc from the play store and so far it is playing better than any other options i have tried.I played an 18GB Transformers imax version and all i had to do was change the audio from 7:1to AC3, the picture quality on my hd tv was excellent and i had no interlacing or freezing.I am now streaming a movie from mashup and again no playback problems.
Maybe Bob's 1.8 rom with the permissions fix and SPMC is the cure for this box.I am using an original M8 square box.
