TWRP for Amlogic devices.

    Using M8 and finless 1.8 (The Best)

    Copied TWRP.zip to SD card (64g) used a 1 gig card previous, it complained
    Installed TWRP.zip from Update&Backup

    All Apps, Power, Reboot Recovery.

    TWRP loaded
    Top left had corner of screen, I use 1080p. very readable not a problem.
    Had a look around interface looks good and not hard to use
    Gave the backup a name. (shorter)
    Did not delete any files.
    selected Backup to external sd card.
    My KR400 logitech mouse detected fine just dam tricky to swipe to get it
    started a click would be great.
    124 seconds to back up only have a small amount of apps on at present.
    Uninstalled some apps to ensure backup was legit.

    All apps, Power, Reboot recovery
    TWRP loaded
    Selected Restore.
    118 seconds to restore from ext SD card
    Reboot
    All apps I unistalled are Back and all working well as I type
    Settings for Digitally Imported and Static DNS did not hold need to re-entered.

      OK, my mistake... Of cause a log exist, but not at external SD because of '/data/media/0' at internal...

          Finless 1.5b1 and TWRP Acemax m8

          Setup
          Square EM8 with Finless 1.5b (The best for me for 720p (all newer roms, even with 720patch, didn't work with XBMC 720p (after a reboot))
          And TWRP_m8 (TWRP Acemax m8 )

          Finless 1.5b1 Rom with:
          - NextApp SDfix Kitkat (googleplay)
          - cpu_fix816.zip
          - USBDebug (from google play)
          - xbmc-13.1-Gotham-armeabi-v7a-oman.apk

          1- Installed TWRP with reboot apk to recovery
          2- Installed fine
          3- Reboot (with reboot app) to recovery
          4- Booted into TWRP
          5- Backup to external SDcard - backup completed in 272s for 2026mb
          backuprate file system 11 mb/s
          backuprate image drives 96 mb/s
          6- Reboot
          7- Reboot to recovery
          8- Booted into TWRP
          9- Factory Reset
          10- Advanced Wipe
          Dalvik cache
          Cache
          System
          Data
          Internal storage
          Internal SD
          -> succeeded BUT unable to mount '/SDcard
          11- Not rooted -> install? No
          12- Install -> Finless 1.5b rom
          Finished succesfully
          13- Reboot -> clean Finless 1.5b rom installed
          14- Reboot into recovery
          15- Install backup - completed in 283s
          16- Reboot -> all was ok, but my wallpaper (from map on /storage/emulated/0/)
          17- Map Wallpaper in /storage/emulated/o/ wasn't there anymore -> copied again
          18- Cache and userdata for XBMC was empty as with a clean install
          Did a restore with ftp:
          - /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata
          - /data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/cache/

          Everything seems ok!

                  In AV mode after installing TWRP the picture is out of display. It is impossble to make setting in some APK. Pls. help to adjust picture-display position.

                    In AV Mode there could be a problem.

                    In HDMI mode Switching the TV Off then On makes it adjust itself to 720p.

                      Made some changes :

                      S82 and M8

                      - The installation should now be hassle free. Had to do a little reading, has i'm not a updater-script savvy guy.
                      Google changed the way to set permissions, and i was using the old way.

                      - Add the option to backup bootloader, ubootenv and cache. I haven't tried to restore the bootloader, but the cache option should solve the restore to be complete (some settings missing)

                      - Stock remote not supported, can't swipe to confirm

                      Minix x8-h

                      - The same regarding installation.

                      - Minix is using non standard partition layout, until they release the SDK or someone finds what changes they made the backup of some partitions isn't possible. Those partitions are bootloader,boot,recovery, logo but flashing this partitions from recovery works.

                      I remove those options from this image, and added cache to backup.


                      Regarding the sizes(display) of the images read the OP. There are two themes there, one 1280x720 and the other is 1920x1080.
                      And i made another that is 320x480 for small TV's connected with AV. Might be a little small.


                      Your are free to make themes and if you want share them. A good theming guide can be found here. Check also some other theme's and compare the differences.

                        If you can't flash the theme, open the zip and extract the sdcard folder and place it on your internal or External SD.
                        It should be something like, root/TWRP/theme/ui.zip
