MK808B KitKat kernel [Working WiFi & BT]

I upgraded my mk808 non-b with dumonde's ROM and it worked perfectly. The only complaint is the internal memory is back to 1gb which is small for apps.the finless 2.1 jelly bean allowed for a 4gb internal memory partition. If that can be changed this ROM would be awesome.

This can easily be done by modifying the parameter file with RK3xxx Firmware Tools. Ask a ROM developer.

Can someone tell me if there is a working KitKat rom for the non B mk808? It's been mentioned but I cant see one anywhere. I realise that it wouldn't be perfect, but my mk808 needs a new rom and based on how much faster the minix x7 is with kitkat I'm crossing my fingers that one exists.

Yes, try Dumonde's KitKat from the first post or mo123's from this thread.

OK. One more thing:

Remember to always flash the loader that comes with the ROM when upgrading from JellyBean to Kitkat or going back to JellyBean because KitKat uses a new bootloader that is incompatible with JellyBean. Use the latest AndroidTool v2.1.

If you dont need wifi you can flash quite a few of them.

I do need wifi and have the mk808 non B so I'm a bit confused. With the Minix X7 the new roms I've used have been image files. With this, do I need a rom and kernel to work together? The kernals seem to have a B in so I kind of assumed that they wouldn't work.

I have a non b. The kernel works OK but when wifi is turned on poor performance. I am going to try to do a rk901 for the non b just havent had time yet. Only couple hours a night to work on these.

KitKat ROM for new MK808b RTL8723

Hi everybody,

I was wondering if there is any good KitKat ROM available for the new MK808B / RK3066 using RTL8723BS chipset.

I tried the existing ROMs, but none of them works. Also, I have noticed the download link for the Dumonde's MK808 ROM is not valid anymore. Is there a mirror or a different location from which I can download that ROM ?

Could you please put your original ROM (v5.0_102j2101) back and send me a dmesg?

• install Terminal Emulator
• run the following commands:
  • su
  • dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg_v5.txt
  
  
• attach the dmesg_v5.txt located on the sdcard

In this kernel I've only changed WiFi from RK903 to RTL8723BS SDIO. Perhaps the dmesg could shed some light on the problem.

By new I meant for the v5 MK808B with RTL8723 wifi. There hasn't been any update since kernel_mk808b_kk_rtl8192cu_edid_sound_vsync

Real 1080p

Can someone verify this (I don't have a 1080p screen)?

1. Flash Dumonde's KitKat ROM
2. Flash my 1080p kernel (link in my previous post)
3. Install Build Prop Editor from Play
4. Change video.use.overlay from 1 to 0
5. Reboot

This should activate real 1080p output according to some threads.
