I was able to succesfuly compile the module, and the drivers DO load, my only problem is that even though the drivers are loaded, the interface wlan0 does not appear.

Anyway, thanks for the interest in this problem.
Would it help you if i dump you a dmesg from working kitkat kernel and mtk modules...?
I would like to help in having a stable kernel for mtk chipsets...

Yes, that would be helpful. Please test my kernel and report back.

I've managed to compile an MTK kernel. I had to set RK30SDK_WIFI_GPIO_WIFI_INT_B and remove an 'inline' tag from gl_kal.h (MTK driver folder).

I've set the config according to a documentation I've found in Rockchip's SDK:
      RKXX_Android4.4-SDK_WiFi BT 配置说明V1.0

And here's the kernel (MT5931 WiFi, MT6622 BT):
      kernel_mk808_mtk_kk.img
      iMito QX1 KitKat 4.4.2 ROM
      MK808B (RK903) KitKat kernel builds

      MK808B (RK903) KitKat kernel sources

I use Shomari's kitkat rom, and unfortunately I can't boot with this kernel. It just shows two penguins in upper left corner of the screen.

It doesn't boot with Uhost ROM too..

Reverted stock kernel, and it boots.

Ok, I can try, can you just give me another link. Because the one in first post doesn't work.

It's not booting with dumonde's rom too. Again, just two penguins.

                  Can you make it boot?

@ the Kernel compiling guys: Is it possible for you to add custom resolutions to the kernel? I am searching for a kernel that supports 1360*768.

Any efforts in making bootable kernel?
Your kernel is still my only hope..
                      Thanks for your help.

You have to adjust the parameter file to do this...its pretty easy to do. You can use the rk3xxx tool by sergio to do it.

Wow! I installed this on my 808 (non b) version. Bought a $5 usb to ethernet adaptor and Domondes rom works perfectly with the kernal dated Oct 2014 posted here a few posts back.
Thanks a million. This has brought a whole new lease of life to my MK808.

Can anyone tell me whether the usb adaptor would have to connect to a cable, rather than be a wifi dongle (for the non B version). I'm guessing the wifi issues would remain?

I have an MK808B (original, with RK903 chip set, purchased from Geekbuying in June 2013). As my on board WIFI chip is fried (OTG cable took a dip in fish tank under TV). I have purchased an external chip which is a Realtek RTL8188CU. I have this working fine with Fineless ROM 1.7 using a driver from http://www.armtvtech.com/armtvtechfo...ile.php?id=180 However I would like a more up to date ROM. I see that BalintBanyasz has a kernel for KitKat that should work with this WiFi chip. However I have tried the following roms...

                                - Dumonde's MK808 ROM (rooted) --> two penguins
Downloaded from https://mega.co.nz/#!VdljCDxY!94jrZu...JExYKt8bitPSqw as link in OP no longer works
                                - mShomari's Kit Kat 4.4.2 RK3066 --> runs but screen keeps flashing with and android in top left hand corner of screen and can’t do anything
                                - Smallart Uhost2 KitKat (U2.442.000.11.140327) --> can’t try as links in OP no longer working.

I have tried loading Dumonde's and mShomari's both are single img firmware with AndroidTool v2.1 both appear to include the new bootloader in the image.
Other users such as totor54 rk903 and Lude have had the same problems loading KitKat . Others such as Lokotito have been able to boot Smallart ROM but unfortunately the link in the OP no longer works so I can’t try it.

With any Android ROM's for 4.2 or 4.1 I have never had a problem flashing them and running them. I have no problem going back to a jellybean ROM they always boot. Any ideas what I should try to get KitKat running?
