    WiFi Stability

Fantastic ROM and thankyou to 900supersport for all his good work. After seeing that it was possible to Flash the zip file posted by psygnosis I thought I would look for a solution to the WiFi instability inherent in JB (or at least in every JB ROM that I have played with.

I found a "FIX" on XDA Developers for the Nexus that so far is working very well for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1739097.

I flashed, from internal storage as CWM doesn't recognise my external SD, the first download (DOWLOAD MD5: 552ca815433a88524ef00f738263c0dd) and so far there have been no ill effects. I also clear the cache whilst in CWM.

EDIT: It didn't recognise the external_sd because it was formatted as NTFS. I just flashed 900s new boot screen patch from external_sd formatted as Fat32.

I've yet to find a key combination that will boot the cube to recovery. I use titanium backup pro and use it's reboot option. Adding a reboot app to the Rom is on my to do list.

Long press vol+ and power for CWM reboot

I've been booting into recovery by long pressing vol+ and power. I release immediately the dual peashooter appears and it loads CWM. You have to hold longer than for linking to rock batch tool but not so long that screen goes black. If screen goes black after dual peashooter, you have held too long and need to hold power until it makes a single click sound.

I have announced and linked this thread on Slatedroid and Flashmyandroid as I think there are a large number of users who would be interested in coming over and playing with this. Well done to you, Finless and Team for getting CWM onto the Cube U30GT platform. I am downloading and will give feedback after I've had a chance to play with it some.

                Some Questions

                Hi Brian,

I have downloaded your rom but I have not flash it. I have been looking for a rom with CWM for a long while. Thank you for creating one.

Before I flash it, I have some question here.

                1) Currently, my MicroSD card is in NTSF format. As your rom have EXT4, can I still remain my MicroSD card in NTSF format?
                2) If I cannot keep the SD card in NTSF, how can I format the card into EXT4.

Hope you may advice. Thank you.

                Will

I use NTFS formatted sdcard myself, no issues. Be sure to remove before flashing to avoid it being reformatted on first start.

I think not just flashing. When wanted to boot into CWM better to remove the card. I think my card is formatted when clearing the cache.

I've created a new thread with a demonstration of using clockwork. Those of you on the original version will find the update to the boot animation pleasing to the eye.

Did this patch improve things for you?

If so I'll look into it and either incorporate it into my ROM if this is an issue for many users or upload a patch.zip with instructions for update via clockwork.

I applyed the path but makes no difference for me

In the other hand I have modified Contacts.apk so you can create a shortcut in home scrreen (adding LAUNCHER category to AndroidManifest) cause there is no other way to access it as there is no builtin support to lauch it in default launcher.

Here is the app (you can simply install it as any other app or replace default one):
Modified stock Contacts 4.1.1 app from Cube U30GT to include <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> in AndroidManifest.xml so you can add a shortcut in default launcher.

The WiFi patch has certainly worked for me as my signal is stronger and doesn't fluctuate and get dropped anymore. This was occurring on stock and modded JB ROMs. On an aside Prox32 says that he has made build.prop changes in his ROM that improve battery life, cache etc and I wonder if you can transplant build.prop from one ROM to another?

How are you guys finding youtube? If im watching a HD video I find it stops every minute or two to buffer for 30seconds or so. Ive tried the wifi patch and no difference. Dont think its my broadband as no buffering on other devices. Not sure if its a jellybean issue or wifi issue?
