    Excellent ROM

    Hi,

    Been following this forum for a while before deciding on a new box (I have an old MK808). Finally picked the HPH one with 4gb/32gb and following speedy delivery and good comms from Tina it arrived safely and the first thing I did before even turning it on was flash this rom. I must say this is a very smooth and quick device and the Rii remote is excellent. I only have one issue, installation fails while trying to update su binary and any help is appreciated.

    Thanks for the excellent thread guys and this forum in general. It really gave me time to review and decide without actually buying any device.

      The left box works good for me since we do not have cwm/trwp installed.

        Usually a restart and trying again to update su works.

          Firefly Kernel o/c

          Working on o/c on kernel and have found something I think is unusual. In rk3288.dtsi frequency Tables can be found. CPU show what I think is a CPU running at the 1.8 GHZ will need to be set by the user.

          "&clk_core_dvfs_table {
          operating-points = <
          /* KHz uV */
          //126000 900000

            For HPH devices the ROM is overclocked to 1.8Ghz, but not for other devices.

              1.8GHz it's not overclocking. It's stock clock from original Rockchip SDK. Have no any overclocking here.

                  Glad it's fixed now, since you were the only one with crashing problems.
                  For others: If you are not using a 3A charger, you are going to experience issues.

                    I'll release v1.3 in a few days.
                    The linux image is now finished, just waiting for new sources/fixes for the Android part to use that instead of the image I'm using now.
                    Really difficult to root dual-boot ROM's and make ROM already rooted on boot and user friendly.

                    More apps are included this time(Hulu, IPlayer etc)
                    New bootanimation(ROM name updated)
                    Linux
                    - Restricted extras
                    - AdBlocker and popup blocker in Firefox.
                    - Download Manager
                    - MPlayer set-up correctly

                    Kodi RC1 is now out, hopefully in a few weeks final will be released and a new SPMC released based on it.

                    Any more suggestions?

                      hi,
                      does it means that the next firmware will be a dual boot by default?
                      if so, i will be able to install only the android side? (i want to keep my recovery partition alive)
                      i will be able to upgrade without loosing data and settings?

                      thank you Mo for your hard work & sharing, it is very much appreciated

                        Yes, dualboot
                        But will also include parameter file for those that don't want dual-boot.
                        Partitions are now bigger, so it erases everything.
                        If you want to make backups of apps already installed, you can use Titanium backup and restore backup later on a new ROM.

                          hi mo123,

                          can you make a one only partition ( fo r apps, data etc) like wasser did for beelink?

                          thank you

                            Because it's dual-boot, it will then have to be fixed since the linux partition is the last one and not userdata as with a regular Android ROM.
                            Will then only work on eg. 16GB devices and not 32GB or 8GB devices unless I make it compatible for every device's flash size which would be too tiresome.
                            Unless you leave the Linux out and only use Android, then it's possible for all devices.
                            Maybe there is another way too, that someone knows?

                              I don't know how you handle it, but why should the Linux-RFS 'partition' the last one?

                              I also don't know (at the moment) how wasser merge the 2 'partitions' userdata/user but couldn't you place the Linux-RFS 'partition' before e.g. the userdata (worst case system) 'partition' (if he merge it at this level)?
                              The linux-boot (kernel/initramfs) should find it because of
                              Code:
                              root=/dev/block/mtd/by-name/linuxroot
                              at the parameter (that's why it have to labeld as 'linuxroot')...

                              But I don't know how the android-linux-kernel / -initramfs (boot) handles the mounts...

                              Of cause to handle it at a 8GB device is really worst, becuase you need ~2GB for boot/kernel/recovery/system/etc. (in your case maybe more because of bigger system) then maybe ~1,5GB (for 14.04LTE) / ~2,5GB (for 14.10) to have ~500MB free space at the RFS and the rest for userdata/user...

                                Seems my hesitance (and lack of free time) to flash v1.2 will pay off afterall.
                                And kudos for dual-boot! It's about time to get rid of Bill Gates and try something else.
                                Keep up the good work.
