I think the device (cpu too weak, kernel settings wrong etc.) isn't handling the input right when in "HD" mode.

I don't know if it was asked before, but does the camera not work with version 1.1 ?
I did change it to Normal mode because i need a lower resolution for my apps to run more smoothly than HD mode. I'll try this again and i don't know, hope it will be fixed. That's the only problem i needed to remove in the rom to make it "perfect" for me. I wish someone will encounter the same problem lol, so that Maakie and also sir Riley can look on this one.

    Thank you very much.
it's not possible because the chip doesn't support it, as far as i know
    hardware issue, not software

    two more things
about the search bar: can it be linked to google now, as it was on 1.8.2?
the launcher screen, i noticed, appears "not well proportioned", a 3x3 widget becomes very long in portrait mode

    So my question is:

Who is going to fix that vulnerability and implement the google fix into the firmware?

According to the links you gave, this bug is not present in kitkat, which is what this rom is based on. Maybe you are getting a false positive.

As to the bigger picture, I raised this question earlier. It is highly unlikely that Pipo (or any other Chinese vendor ) will update firmware for security reasons. They expect you to buy a new tablet if you want updated firmware.

To be fair to the Chinese vendors, I would expect that the vast majority of devices referenced in that article will never be fixed.

Randy and his team now have source code for a few models. Whether or not that would let them do security updates is unknown.

Based on the articles I've read, this bug shouldn't be present in Android 4.4.2...which is the version this ROM is based on. If you have updated your Google Play Services, it's my understanding that the problem should be fixed. Otherwise, I'm not sure what else you would like us to do.

I'd planned to release a new version with some fixes.
and can the kernel get the support?.... in the previous one it was implemented
additionally to the lenght of the search bar, the icons close to the app menu (in the downside of the main launcher screen) are a bit "compressed". it's just a visual thing, but since there's space.....
also, the digital clock is not centered

as said, no big deals, just "nice to have"

one more thing i just noticed
gps test always show "no fix", even if it sees satellites, like agps is not functioning
another gps test app finds my position right (without satellites), but google maps can't find me, it says just "waiting for position", like there's some sync error
and this with the high precision method
antenna is not the best so i've always relied on the google location service
    this had already been reported

    ok!
twrp flashed and working, sd card could be formatted as well

the rom seems to run smoothly and has also less issues to handle many installed apps

but why the impossibility to format with aparted with ext2/3/4 (fat 32 works, and with 1.8.2 it worked also ext2)?
    precisely i do this
-full format sd on settings, memory
    -unmount sd
    -go on aparted
-create two partitions, fat32 and ext2/3/4
    -fat32 completes
-ext2 doesn't say "format complete", instead it formats (apparently) but afterwards aparted doesn't see the card anymore, and link2sd doesn't see it as well formatted, because it can't mount it. once the tablet rebooted while formatting, another time it just didn't to anything (but again, only on ext2)

creating two fat32 partitions works smooth

the sd is also not damaged, since i could format it with twrp, as said, and now works fine

and about the google search bar?

    flashed

    I report the following
    • when i rotate the screen (portrait) the google search bar on the launcher goes outside the screen, it doesn't get resized, anyone else?
    • after the first boot i got an error, a process had stopped, but it never happened again, so it's no big deal
    • now aparted and link2sd have trobules in creating and recognizing ext2 partition. aparted doesn't create successfully ext2 partitions anymore, so link2sd fails. riley 1.8.2 was ok on this
    • recovery mode apparently doesn't work. there's just an icon but i can't do anything
