You misunderstand. I want to find the Hardware IDs for the LAN (not WIFI) and for the AUDIO.... Just open Windows, device manager, read the numbers from properties. Thanks

How did you do that? I'm facing the same problem you did. The box comes with a banned key. So apparently we need to get our own. But there seems no way for us to purchase a windows 8.1 with Bing license.

I've gone and purchased a windows pro licence and tried to update it just so I can activate the box, but I get the "error something when wrong" midway through the upgrade and it's not able to complete.

Looks like the only way is to boot off a USB device and reinstall windows from scratch.
(whats the point of them pre-loading windows in the first place if we need to reinstall??)

My next problem is I don't have a USB CD-ROM. I tried using rufus to make a bootable USB stick but it does not seem to detect it. Does anyone know how I supposed to proceed? It's looking to be an expensive paperweight..

You pressed "DEL" to enter the BIOS and select the device which you will use for boot?

I ended up borrowing a USB drive from a friend. What a hassle to boot... Firstly, it doesn't boot off the CD-ROM (the usual way) no matter what parameter for boot order (after pressing escape). Finally selected boot from file then selected the string of text that had USB (somewhere in there) and browsed to /EFI/BOOT/<efi image>.efi

My first attempt with a 64 bit version on DVD(bootx64.efi) failed..Got an invalid file message.
Then I burnt a 32 bit version of windows 8.1 Pro and selected its bootia32.efi file. Success! Just formatted the partition where the old windows was and installing a new one...hope I'm doing it right...

                  Edit:

OK install went fine and was able to boot into windows 8.1 Pro> Finally able to activate it..but now in driver hell trying to hunt each one down.

There has to be an easier way than this...and I don't understand why they couldn't just pay the few dollars to MS to register the OS for this device..

I received today cx-w8 from Aliexpress. Windows is not licenced of couse.
Wifi module is Broadcom AP6330. Not realtek.
To go to BIOS need to press ESC.
And all drivers are installed automatically after first boot.

ouch, like with Pipo, as expected.

Means that internally theres no dissipation for heat, unfortunately.
Not good for continuous video decoding.

                            Thx anyway

Has anyone run crystal disk mark on the internal flash memory?

If not can someone please post the benchmark; would like to compare with pipo x7.

                              Thanks!

                                Bios

hi guys any chance anyone knows a way or resetting the bios?

basically in the attempts to get the thing to boot from usb something has been disabled and the keyboard won't respond until its in windows.

or if someone has a copy of the bios so can reflash it, that'd be great.

                                thanks
