the vpn binary i use on my beelink mxq with TheRealJohnGalt's OE6 firmware is from an addon installed through kodi, the addon shows the following info :

      Code:
      version="6.0.0"
      provider-name="Stefan Saraev (seo at irc.freenode.net)"
the binary show the following version :

      Code:
OpenVPN 2.3.6 armv7a-openelec-linux-gnueabi [SSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [EPOLL] [IPv6] built on May 4 2015
library versions: LibreSSL 2.1.8, LZO 2.08
      here's the openvpn configuration i'm using :

      Code:
      client
      dev tun0
      proto udp
      remote nl.privateinternetaccess.com 1194
      resolv-retry infinite
      nobind
      persist-key
      persist-tun
      ca /storage/.config/openvpn/ca.crt
      tls-client
      remote-cert-tls server
      auth-user-pass /storage/.config/openvpn/vpn.auth
      comp-lzo
      verb 1
      reneg-sec 0
      crl-verify /storage/.config/openvpn/crl.pem

      log-append /var/log/openvpn.log
      script-security 2
beware that this configuration may lack some important config options to make it work with your specific provider :
      allow-pull-fqdn
and maybe a "route" option i fail to remember.

use your provider's default openvpn config, it should work out of the box.

here the openvpn link looks very stable. I've moved a bunch of torrent to the deluged daemon running on that same box and it's all going through the vpn of course.
It's been running for a week and has not crashed. Torrent speed matches my regular x86 debian openvpn setup.
Although pia allows it, i'm currently not using portforwarding for my deluged dameon but it really shouldn't make a difference.

      hope it helps

Hi, I received Mk808b Plus M805 from gearbest two days ago and want to try to boot into Openelec from SD. I follow the guide , but when booting , after "GoogleTv screen " , green android appears, progress bar stop after 10% of loading and reboot into android. I tried several times. Can someone help me? I write Openelec image using dd in linux and win32imagedisk in windows. SD is a brand new class 10 samsung 8GB. Thanks a lot

It appears the bootloader.img in the HD18Q update.zip is not compatible with the S805_MXQ_V03 board (results in Brick with no access to recovery...only recovered using USB Burn tool).

If I change the bootloader.img with a known working one for this board and resign the zip with ainol zip signer it works perfect (Wifi Also). If I then copy over the remote.conf to/storage/.config/ , once openelec has been installed, the remote works (apart from the OK button which im looking into)

I have attached the bootloader.img for the S805_MXQ_V03 board and its remote.conf

Im not sure if you guys want to link to this post from post 1 to let other V3 owners know of this problem.
              Hello,
First Many thanks for the great work that you do!
It seems that I have S805_MXQ_V03 board, and I have downloaded bootloader.img. can you please give me a link to the "ainol zip signer" so I can re-sign the new image?
              Many thanks in advanced!

Is it possible to remove the bootloader.img without replacing it?

ArieGadol I'm sure you may have already figured it out....A simple google search with find it. Perhaps then contribute and post a link to help others. Thanks.

Btw guys, none of this is my "work". I've only done what everyone should do....put the time in and research on Google. Then post in the relevant place to help others who bother to read.

Please donate and send your thanks to the geniuses who spend time working on this openelec port itself. They do the real "work"

I am not sure how I have missed it,
                    Here what I have found.
Thanks again for the great work.

                      Good Job!
Hi Mafarricos what android ROM do you have on NAND, and what openElec version?
I have too the EC-MK808b+ clone, installed Superceleron 1.4, but when tried to install Gapps no succes...so i tried to install twrp by update app and I think corrupted my recovery partition (really no way to boot into recovery).
At this point I needed a rom img file to flash with usb burning tool and and I found this one (ROM link), went well so I start from here, the rom is not rooted and have few bad google apps, but the rest is ok, OpenELEC 5.95.5.2 from SD go in loop (screen with kodi logo and blue background of kodi environement -without any menu-). I'm going crazy what can I do?

                        Hello.

How can I make USB keyboard work with OpenElec? Both version (from the kszaq and TheRealJohnGalt) are not detecting any USB keyboards. It looks like some HID usb modules are missing. Is there already some solution for it?

I am on kszaq version (mk808b+) and all usb keyboards work. Try the other usb port, maybe that helps.

Slowly ready kodi jarvis (kodi v16), so openelec 7 is expected.
Is any hope to port mxq?
Other question: with stock android, and factory video player dolby hd passthrough working.
Maybe got this working on mxq with openelec too?
I think wetek core with openelec contains the necessary hdmi audio drivers.

Hi, Bought an 808B Plus today and currently trying to install openelec but seem to be having issues. When I boot up using toothpick method I get the green android man and I see the progress bar go across all the way and then black screen and then I get the same again, green andoid man, progress bar then black screen and so on like a boot loop.

If I disconnect the power and remove the sd card and power and reboot I just get a black screen, no recovery possible. If I re-insert the card I am back to the install loop.

                                Any idea's please?
