When I first installed OpenElec, I was able to change resolution on OpenElec.
Then, after some days, I found it was fixed to 720p.
After a reboot it was again selectable.

Sorry for the obvious question, but have you tried to peform a couple of OpenElec power on/off cycles to see if this fix it?

kszaq - Android TV stick noob here. I recently bought Tronsmart MK808b Plus from GeekBuying. it came with 110k4 rom which i had it upgraded to 111k4 stock rom from Tronsmart. I am mainly using my TV stick as a media center (mostly playing media files from local network), I am very much interested in trying out your OpenElec version. Being a complete noob in this, I have few queries for which if possible you kindly clarify.

Is it possible to run your OS from a SD card without erasing the TV stick's default Rom in NAND (kinda dual-boot)?

Does your OS has working WiFi connection for ap6210 or ap6212 chipsets (not sure which one is there in my stick) of MK808b Plus sticks?

Finally, will an 8 GB Class 4 SD card suffice for this operation or do i need a larger capacity, high speed SD card?

That's it. Looking forward to your suggestions.

      Thanks for your time!
Device: Tronsmart MK808B Plus (AP6210 WiFi Chipset)
      OS: NAND - Finless 1.1 by DroidTV.fr
      SD Card - Ubuntumate 15.04

Thanks for the hint, will try that later today.

          Code:
          echo hotplug > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
and put it in Configfiles Windows share.

Thanks for sharing this fix. It seems to have helped my black OTT MXQ (

The "dead Android" comes up when there's an automatic flash procedure in progress and is does whatever factory_update_param.aml file says, just like phinc stated above. If there's an error during flash procedure, it will fall back to regular recovery and if it succeeds, it reboots the box.
Many thanks, I edited the factory_update_param.aml, so I will be able to flash new bootloader!

Installed on SD version 5.0.8.18 on my two devices. Here are my finds. In Mk808b+ all is working very well, WiFi, bluetooth, and a 10$ usb 3.0 - ethernet adapter. The other devices is more problematic: it is a (beelink ???) ubox s805 I bought from gearbest, and the internal ethernet and bluetooth doesn't work; wifi is working...

Could someone please tell me what kernel version this is on? I'm looking at installing this and getting a USB TV Tuner, so I need to know if it will be compatible.

                Thanks

What tuner are you looking at? Also, the HDHomeRun tuners are great, but a little on the expensive side. If you want to turn your MK808B Plus into a stand alone DVR/PVR, the drivers for the HDHomeRun tuners are built in, making it very easy to create a stand alone DVR. One other advantage to using the HDHomeRun tuners, they are creating a DVR app for their tuners.

So I'm still trying to figure out if what I want can work. I currently have an antenna, a Mk808B+, and a media remote. My desire is to use the TV stick as a standalone DVR/PVR with just a HDD and having no PC involved. I was looking at the KWorld UB345-Q, but one of the reviews indicates it needs 3.15 kernel and I can't find another source. I have heard of the HDHomeRun, but don't understand how exactly it works since it does not seem to have USB.

Thanks for the help. I'm very much a noob at this stuff, but looking to learn.

You have everything you need to create a DVR except the tuner. This is a good choice (http://www.amazon.com/SiliconDust-HD...ords=hdhomerun). This tuner is a networked tuner, meaning it connects to your network via Ethernet. Somewhere you have a router, with 4 Ethernet ports, the tuner will connect to one of those ports. If you don't have a co-axial lead coming from your antenna near your router, you can purchase an Ethernet switch and connect it near your input for your coaxial cable entrance. If you can find a way to run an Ethernet cable to your Android stick that will be running your DVR, that will be the best connection. Your PVR/DVR will probably not work very well running off wifi.

I do have an antenna with a co-axial I will be using. Is there a specific USB Ethernet adapter you recommend for the MK808B+? With an external HDD is there any way I would be able to then watch those recordings on other devices within and/or outside my own network? Also my wireless router has a USB port with the option of NAS. Would that be possible with the MK808B+ and HDHomeRun setup? And is there any benefit?

This is the USB Ethernet adapter that I use, got it on sale for $15 (http://plugable.com/products/usb2-e1000), now everyone wants $25. I recommend a gigabit Ethernet adapter with this chip (ASIX 88178 Chip). Ioonix posted the link for a couple of links for gigabit Ethernet adapters (http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...rion-r68/page5 post #72). Not sure about using the USB port on your router. After you install openELEC and tvheadend server and an external HD for recording destination, all your devices on your network will have the same DVR function as your server (your MK808B Plus). Make sure you use a powered HDD.

Edit, as I think about it, you may be able to connect your HDD to your wireless router, and have it as your recording destination. I am using my NAS as my recording destionation, so it should be possible, but a little more difficult to set it up that way. You will have to know the IP address and use mount commands in your OpenELEC setup.

Looks like Isengard 15.0 final has been released on the kodi website. Can't wait to see updated builds.
