kszaq I think I broke my all black MXQ ($50) device :-(
It displays a red light & there the recovery OS is gone tried to use http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/how-t...n-minutes.html but that fails too any idea how to fix it?
(Not blaming you as it's always a risk we take when modifying firmware etc)
I think my main problem is I thought I had to use OpenELEC-Amlogic.HD18Q.arm-5.0.8.19-bootloader.zip on the Recovery Android interface via "apply update from external" which I think broke the device completely & the pin trick does not work anymore.

Awsome, this keymap worked well on your HD18Q build thanks so much... The only thing left would be figuring out why I get WIFI with the MXQ build 5.0.8.19 doing modprobe 8189es. but on the HD18Q 5.0.8.19 there is no wifi? I guess like you said this would be a different kernel tree or something.

Thanks a lot!
Still one question: Is it possible to prevent OpenElec to shut down, even if the Power key of the remote control is pressed?

1. If you use your TV's USB to power the MK808B plus, this problem will solve itself....
2. If you look in your TV's CEC settings you can disable the Power-Saver\CEC settings but leave the rest. This worked on my Panasonic with Viera Link HDMI-CEC implementation.

Thanks- modifying initramfs to load 8723bs and not wifi_dummy module
- insert your own device tree into kernel image
