I've installed this on my mxq to nand. However the network connection does not work wired or wireless. So I can't use the box and I can't shh in to issue a reboot recovery command so that I can flash the stock firmware. Is there any way to issue the command without network I.E from within kodi?

    UPDATE
I managed to get network via plugging in a USB wireless adapter. BUT when I shh in and send the reboot recovery command the box just reboots. If I issue the command and use a toothpick it just seems to keep rebooting with the TV going from black screen to blue and no recovery screen comes up. I've got an SD card with the recovery firmware in the box. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks

Do you have a recovery.img on your SD card?

      Comment

Yes I had a recovery.img on the SD card but it wouldn't rcover from it. BUT I put the recovery files on a USB stick, it then booted to recovery but there was a message saying unable to mount the SDcard. So I put the SDcard back in and was able to flash from the SDCard using the recovery menu. A bit of a convoluted way to get back to square one but it's back to stock now.

        Thanks

i have another question. i want to make it so that after i flash my rom the tvheadend addon is already installed and working. i cant figure out how to do this though. ive tried the obvious, putting the pvr.hts folder in the addons directory (both usr/share/kodi/addons and /storage/.kodi/addons) and while it shows up in the addons menu when i do this, its not actually installed so i cant enable it. when i install it normally using the gui it works perfectly. is there some file that should be in a specific directory? or do i have to edit a file? how can i get kodi to know that this addon is installed? would compiling it with openelec work? if so then what files do i have to edit to do this?
im sorry for the annoying questions, but im really at a loss and need help. and any help would be greatly appreciated, even if its just pointing me in the general direction.
                  thank you

This can try this: compression folder addons you want to zip format. and install from zip file on OpenElec.

I tried your MXQ build (OpenELEC-Amlogic.MXQ.arm-5.0.8.20.zip) for this box, and it works perfectly (wifi and Ethernet both work) EXCEPT the remote; it comes with the same remote as the all-black MXQ (your HD18Q build). I copied the remote.conf from your HD18Q build and now the remote works perfectly as well. Is it possible to incorporate this HD18Q remote.conf into your MXQ build?

HAK25 You can add pre-installed add-ons using OEM_SUPPORT option but I couldn't find an explanation on how to use it (and I've never used it before).

mivlives I won't do this for two reasons: 1) I'm not sure if we can use two different remote.conf files in one build as these remotes have different factory_code and 2) If you copy remote.conf to Configuration folder and it works, this will persist during upgrades.

For those of you that can't wait for the 5.95.4 version, I've compiled and uploaded it here: http://s805.eu/releases/5.95.4.1/ It's not tested by me as I didn't have enough time but it should work OK.

                                Hello.

kszaq you are making really nice progress with your openelec port for s805.

I would like to know if you plan to include in your image some other openelec/linux tools e.g. tvheadend
I need tvheadend because I would like to extend my MXQ with openelec to also receive DVB-T TV using USB TV tuner.
                                I have already bought http://www.aliexpress.com/item/USB2-...396245518.html
and this device is working nicely with Kodi on my old Asrock Ion box.
Now I would like to use it with MXQ and your port of Openelec. USB TV tuner is detected and i can find it in dmesg and lsusb output.
All I need to start watching tv is tvheadend . Do you know how this could be accomplished?
I have tried to use tvheadend from unofficial WeeTek repository from Openelec Unfortunately this is very not stable and it reboots my box after few minutes. However tvheadend webgui seems to work to some extend.
Anyone else have tried to use USB TV tuner?
