Apologies if I'm asking something asked previously in the thread.

I'm used to openelec in a htpc and rpi/rpi2, is this release the same as what I'm used to? I like to change the DNS settings so I can use unblock us, will I be able to if I used openelec on my mxq?

OpenELEC is OpenELEC. Unofficial releases might have slight adaptations depending on hardware but everything else should be identical to the Pi/Pi2.
I've had both Pi and Pi2, MXQ + OpenELEC runs much better.

Hi Guys, black OTT MXQ here. I flashed the OpenELEC-Amlogic.HD18Q.arm-5.95.5.1 image and it is working just fine.
Only thing is when it powers down, the led stays blue...

Is there a possibility to ssh into the box and change a config file where these settings are saved? Or is this a kind of bug?

I've downloaded 5.08.2 when I unzipped it on my Mac I only got 1 zip file. I've flashed mx2 with openelec before. It usually have 3 files to do with. Did I miss something??

Is this a limitation for Amlogic in general or just the S805? I see some retailers advertising DTS HD passthrough via HDMI with some S802 boxes.

rev6 I've read that this is a hardware limitation of S805.

Hi kszaq, I've just flashed HD18Q 5.95.5.1 to my box and there seem to be a few differences. My remote now works properly without adding remote.conf file, using the power off button makes the machine fully power off instead of standby and I can turn it back on with the remote. Are these changes in OpenElec or would they be the result of a different u-boot.bin? I recently flashed a different uboot and don't know which has caused the changes.

Compos Being able to power on the box by remote is caused by u-boot (bootloader), full power off is caused by some changes that I did in my release.

sorry if this problem has already been posted,i flashed my mxq box everytthing went great but now my remote doesnt work ive tried a different remote and also plugging in a mouse and keyboard has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix

Anyone else having WiFi failure on 5.95.5, I'll post log tomorrow to help with diagnostics.

Hi Kszaq, it's been a while since I last wrote something on this forum but have been using your amazing releases ever since.

I have just updated from 5.0.8.20 to 5.95.5-1. I had a custom MX2 remote.conf file working well before I updated, but since the update this hasn't worked. The file is still there - and for good measure I deleted it and reloaded it - but it simply doesn't work. Do I need to put the remote.conf file in another location for Isengard?

jjbull pigbait noosk There is an issue with custom remote.conf in my 5.95.x releases. It should be fixed in 5.95.5.2. Sorry for that.

kszaq: I want to fix analog sound via A/V port on HD18Q, default only signal Audio via HDMI can use.you have any idea? When I plug speaker via A/V port, both TV and speaker can't get Audio signal.

spartacus199 My releases don't support analog output, sorry. I might add that in the future but now I am waiting for a new MXQ as my old one broke down (again).

Every time I turn it off then turn it on I get no sound after that. I have to unplug the hdmi then plug it back in to get sounds. Is this common??? Latest build on mxq all black.

Got an MXQ red top. Was working great running off an SD card, now I've flashed it properly the network passphrase isn't being accepted. Any ideas?

im bumping this up cuz i think its been overlooked, and i really need this to work. please if anyone can help me, i would really appreciate it:


i want to use vpn services, but when i go into the openelec addon it isnt available under network. is this a bug from my side, or is this not available in this version of openelec (i am using the unofficial openelec for MXQ v 5.95.1)?
if it isnt available is there another way i can use vpn?
