I have an MXQ M12 box...

I tried your MXQ build (OpenELEC-Amlogic.MXQ.arm-5.0.8.20.zip) for this box, and it works perfectly (wifi and Ethernet both work) EXCEPT the remote; it comes with the same remote as the all-black MXQ (your HD18Q build). I copied the remote.conf from your HD18Q build and now the remote works perfectly as well. Is it possible to incorporate this HD18Q remote.conf into your MXQ build?

    Hi Guys
I have the exact same remote issue with my all black MXQ S805 after loading OpenELEC-Amlogic.MXQ.arm-5.0.8.20.img.gz to boot from SD card. My standard remote does not work at all. Totally in operative.
I ran the box using an aftermarket c120 remote which worked except for the menu command. I ran the box and was shocked how fast and responsive it was. Everything works with no wifi or playback issues so i am converted to using this build. I really need your help on exactly how you copied the remote.conf and where is this HD18Q Build from. I DID NOT USE THE HD18Q build because i have the K200 board.
Outside of the remote issue it just WORKS. I have attached picture of my box with the remote. Thanking you in advance of a reply.

If everything else is working fine, you only have to copy the correct remote.conf in the Configfiles samba share.

      .

I own the all black MXQ S805 , I tried the 5.0.8.20 and the 5.95.5.2 NAND Installation

All is working perfect for me(I'm not sure for the Bluetooth but I'm not using it) the only thing is the original remote control that is not working.

where can I find the config file and where should I place it ?

Did you use the HD18Q build or the MXQ build?

Anyway, you can get the remote.conf form the HD18Q build from this link to git repository.

To install it you can either connect via samba to your box and leave the file in the Configfiles share, or copy it to a SD Card / pendrive and copy it to /storage/.config folder using OpenElec's file manager.

If that remote.conf file is not working for you, you can try the ones from other builds.

This should also work for kostaman.

I used the MXQ build because i have a k200 board and maybe that is my error. I will get another SD card and try the HD18Q BUILD. I will try the remote.conf files as well on the MXQ build BECAUSE I KNOW it works.
Greatly appreciate your help. I will confirm results to help others.

            Is working great; thank you...

Can you please explain what the difference is on installing openelec in NAND or in SD Card?. Does it perform better when installed in NAND?.

            Thanks

Not sure about this, but... K200 board is not for S802 devices (M8, etc?).

                This is unknown,

I have one of these high speed (>90Mbps) SD-Cards coming in the mail. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o01_s00

When it arrives in a few days I will test and report back.

yes, can compile it...but its gonna take ages and I simply dont have the infrastructure to build one for you...however these binaries below are compatible with the above version of open-elec

I've installed this on a couple friends MXQ box and its great, thanks for your great work.
I came across a few which I cannot get the wifi to work with, in fact wifi doesn't even show up. I opened the boxes and they have a RTL-8189 wifi chip.
Is it possible to get the MXQ box with the RTL-8189 Wireless Module to work, does anyone know or is it possible to SSh to the box and install the needed driver does anyone know?

                          Cheers

If you flash the MXQ and not HD18Q it loads the WiFi modules for the 8189 WiFi chipset but it drops internet connection within seconds. I'm not sure how to fix this was waiting for @kazqs next build

I noticed that alright, no remote but thats just a config file which can be updated, it connects to my router and gets an IP but it's no network connectivity and cannot be pinged, etc.

Is there a decent android rom you are using while you wait?

I have the same problem with two box's. I wish they didn't change the wifi chip. Any chance of a fix for this? Or are we stuck
