What you linked, I think the tvheadend server add-on.
I running it at my wetek play (thanks for link, because I need it, but not with mxq)
I don't find tvheadend client pvr client addon at internet.
What I can install at disabled kodi addons is a 2.1.16 version.

        Tvheadend is a server-client system.
One openelec or other kodi device is a server device with dvb-s, or/and dvb-t, or/and dvb-c tuner(s). This device (at me the wetek play openelec device) serve tv channels to clients.
All of other devices are clients, so with client u can watvh tv like the dvb tuner , like have tv tuner connected.
I have many clients (android tablets, windows pc with kodi, openelec device (Beelink mxq and raspberry pi2). So with this device can i watch tv over wifi or ethernet.
The kszaq mxq version has tvheadend client 2.1.16, the openelec 6.0 with amlinux version has 2.1.18, and the raspberry pi has 2.2.8 with latest jarvis beta.
2.1.16 tvheadend client with mxq sometimes stutter, when i watch recorded tv show. I dont know why, because ethernet is fast enough, so its fault the tvheadend client plugin 2.1.16, because other devices play perfectly the recorded tvshows, thats the way i looking fresh openelec, or fresh zip pvr.hts tvheadend client plugin for mxq.

Very interesting , i'm also looking for a "real" distro (with package manager) for my Mxq boxes (beelink S85 and "black" mxq).

Is there an official thread for your ubuntu release ?

Also you mention odroid repo errors, was it made from the odroid c1 ubuntu release ?

          thx.

Right boys Im about to flash the box with OE 6.0 from here (OpenElec-Amlogic.arm.MXQ-6.0.0.2.zip) which was released yesterday (november 24th).

I have the red stripe MXQ but I only use my box as a media player only for use with Kodi Addons and use Yatse as my remote. I dont really do much more with it so I may not be the best guinea pig here. But here goes.

In case anyone's interested, I have an up to date OE 6.0 MXQ build based on kszaq's excellent work.

              Update tar: http://d-h.st/0g3d
              Source: https://github.com/RealJohnGalt/Open...e/personal-6.0

I additionally have been testing the current master branch of OE with jarvis (kodi 16), however I've run into a kodi issue on it: If I add anything to a library, kodi continually crashes. Other than this rather major issue, it seems to be as functional as the OE 6.0 build.

Master source to anyone interested: https://github.com/RealJohnGalt/Open...ersonal-master
I'm not yet providing master builds unless requested due to the issue above.

As usual with this sort of thing, I don't take any responsibility, stuff may be broken, known issues should be the same as kszaq's last OE 6 release, etc.

Right well I downloaded the latest ZIP as per my last post.

I held down the AV button via Toothpick and all I got on the screen was a flashing Google TV logo. It did not go into recovery mode or show the android robot - any ideas?

                This is what I did

                1. Downloaded the 6.0.0.2 zip file
                2. Formatted my microSD card (previously it held the 3 files from 5.0.8.20)
                3. Extracted the 3 new files from the new firmware onto my mSD
                4. Inserted it into the Red Stripe MXQ
                5. Held down the button with the toothpick

All i get is the box booting and the Google TV just flashing for however long I hold down the toothpick. As soon as I release, the box boots into 5.0.8.20

Any ideas what im doing wrong?

How stable is the release and what MXQ box are you using it on? I have just updated 5.0.8.20 to your version by using the update method (dragging the .tar file to the update folder) - all is well.

Just curious - now that the update is complete, do I go back into the update folder and delete the tar?

                  Thanks

                    Thanks
                    Hey systematic,
I'm running it on a black MXQ with the red mx on top. Any MXQ box that's run kszaq's builds in the past should run it fine. Just put the tar in /storage/.update/ and reboot.

As far as stability goes, it seems to be as stable as the last kszaq OE 6 release which I didn't have issues with. I haven't had any crashes if that's what you mean, but there could be issues other than kszaq's known issues.

kszaq still has "no HD-Audio passthrough and multichannel audio output" listed as a known issue. However, since I updated a few patches awhile back, I have no issues with audio passthrough, and 5.1 over optical and hdmi.

I guess an updated list would be:
                    • 29.97 progressive videos may stutter
                    • Sometimes CEC may not work and it is not configurable
                    • some USB DVB tuners don't work

Regarding CEC, this is a newer version of libcec than what kszaq's builds had (due to upstream commits), but I haven't tested it at all -- CEC on my receiver stops kodi from changing my TV refresh rate, so I leave it off on my receiver and TV.

I tested it, it seems perfect, but only a little problem find.
Wifi work, remote work, only the blue button at kszaq release is a title (options) button, here picture button.
Now with TV remote I cannot access options (title) menu with cec

                        Cheers buddy.

Well ive updated my box (same as yours) using the tar file you posted. All went through as smooth as a peach bum. It updated the underlying OS and left all my addons and settings intact. It feels more fluid and playback for me is great - tried some live tv and some HD content.

I strictly use this as a box media play to playback "legt" video addons and it works really well. The build i am using ontop of Kodi has everything i need. Perfect.

With regards to CEC, Im not too fussed as I find the YATSE remote easier to use especially when it comes to inputting text to perform a manual search on something.

Im pretty happy with the upgrade and as I said it feels more fluid. Even in my previous build 5.0.8.20, I didnt really see any problems but I can only guess this version offers many more beneficial performance tweaks.

In other words, it has Kodi Isengard (15.1 IIRC). I've been running something close to that on mine for awhile now without major issues.

If you mean that you want Kodi Jarvis (16), that's not tagged yet by OpenELEC. It's only available on their master branch.

I just started building off their master branch, and will post a (probably semi-broken) release of it on this thread shortly if anyone wants to test out Jarvis. It's still entirely based on kszaq's awesome work.

Also, I'm curious how the amlinux release was working better if you're able to explain.
Keep me posted, I have a box that's just for testing. All black MXQ WiFi Realtek 8189.

Hello. I tried the openelec 6 update tar on my MXQ red "MX" box that was running the 5.95.5.2 Openelec from SD card (from the first page in this thread). The update seemed to go OK after I rebooted with the tar file in the Update folder but it wouldn't boot into Openelec. The update had decompressed but then on the second reboot I got a message to the effect that the box was unable to mount flash. Fairly new to Openelec so was there anything I should have done differently or is the update tar only for Openelec that has been flashed to nand? I've reinstalled 5.95.5.2 for now but I'd like to update to run from SD if possible.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

                                Hi TheRealJohnGalt,

Thank you for your post. I tried the openelec 6 update tar on my MXQ all black box that was running the 5.95.5.2 Openelec from Nand (from the first page in this thread). This seemed to work ok but I wanted to upgrade. The update seemed to go OK after I rebooted with the tar file in the Update folder it updates and loads up into Openelec but now my remote does not work at all. Is there anyway to fix this or anything I can do? Thanks.
