Like I was saying the main issue is it doesn't mount either my USB or SD in recovery ( dispite working in Android.) So I never really get to the point where I can flash anything.
You can try to flash the ROM through the "Update" app in the Android ROM. Luckily it will use Android's stock recovery and it would be able to mount the SD.

If that doesn't work, try using a different recovery. In my box not all MXQ recoveries seem to work.

Actually never thought of using that. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was able to load openelec last night. I'm not sure if it was because I changed USB drives, used the USB 4 or if it was having the drive in before I started the box but I was able to flash via USB. Either way I got it working !

Thanks again for the help !

Anyone compiling version 6 of openelec.

Hi, I'm trying to install on a S805 MXV from Vensmile, but every time the device or: tries to update the NAND (using NAND toothpick method) or try to boot from SDCARD (using SD method) my MXV powers off.

If I keep pressing the power button on it works on both methods (it works on NAND to tell the truth, booting from the SD card gives me some tty error after the openelec screen pops up), but as soon as I release the power button in both cases the MXV powers down, even while the update (toothpick>NAND method) I must keep the power button pressed for the update to complete, but as soon as it reboots if I release the power button same thing, it powers down. Then I press the power button again, it powers up and powers down just before the boot process starts, and if I continue pressing the power button voila, it boots.

Is any ROM compatible with MXV (already tried all of them)? Is that a known issue? Is there a fix?

          Thanks

          Best Regards

          Cassio

Hi everybody. I have installed 5.95.5.2 (SD). Everything works fine, but i cannot stream bluetooth audio. After some research, I have found that there is not official support for bluetooth audio in OE. Did someone, by chance, compiled modules and solved? Thanks.

Confirmed. There is no Bluetooth audio streaming in Openelec yet. I am not sure if this is tied to the AML codec and audio ouput being tied together in the kernel or not.

Flash the Superceleron ROM first. When you confirm successful boot from NAND, then you can follow the guide here https://github.com/kszaq/OpenELEC.tv...s/tag/5.95.5.2 to do the openelec from SD-Card. When you complete the SD-Card Openelec install you will be able to boot Superceleron without the SD-Card inserted. When you boot with the SD-Card inserted you will get Openelec.

Also you may want to consider getting an additional High Speed ( 90Mbps+) SD-Card and installing Ubuntu Mate 14 on it. It runs well and is fun to use. I wrote a tutorial below :

I made up an installation tutorial here to get Ubuntu on SD-Card and the latest Openelec 5.95.5.2 running from NAND :

                        1. First Install Kszaq's latest Openelec 5.95.5.2 to NAND.
                        2. Navigate to https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxd...ew?usp=sharing and download the .zip
                        3. Extract the .zip
                        4. Now you will have "ubuntu-mate-15-04-s805-standard-0_95_Beta.img"
                        5. Flash this .img to your SD-Card using this tool http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/ (Thanks Regor!)

                        5. (Alternative for Flashing the image) You can also flash the image using a pre-existing Linux machine.
                        http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/HO...The_Disk_Image

                        6. When completed, place the SD-Card in your MK808-b plus.
                        7. Use the pin method when starting ...Get to the "Update from EXT" screen.
                        8. Choose Update from External
                        9. Choose the SD-Card
                        10. Choose the .zip file shown in the SD-Card root
                        11. Press enter then wait 15 seconds while the new bootloader is flashed.
                        12. Now power cycle your MK808b-plus
                        13. You will get the login menu right away...boots in under 20 seconds.
                        14. User\Password is "minipc"

Loboris has also added the code to set the Ubuntu to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 32Bpp or 24Bpp !!!

To get 1080p resolution working place the following in /etc/rc.local :
                        Code:

                        echo "1080p" > /sys/class/display/mode /bin/fbset -fb /dev/fb0 -g 1920 1080 1920 2160 32 echo 0 > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/free_scale echo 1 > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/freescale_mode echo "0 0 1919 1079" > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/free_scale_axis echo "0 0 1919 1079" > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/window_axis echo 0x10001 > /sys/class/graphics/fb0/free_scale
Insert these lines before chmod 666 /dev/am* and reboot.
The last number in fbset command defines the bpp (bits per pixel). Use 32 to get kodi and gles to work, use 24 to get good looking LibreOffice.

Loboris added some more fixes below :

Some more fixes/tips (tested on MK808+):

If you don't have hdmi sound, do the following:

in /etc/asound.conf replace pcm "hw:1,0" with pcm "hw:0,1"
                        in /etc/pulse/default.pa replace (uncomment)
                        #load-module module-alsa-sink with load-module module-alsa-sink
                        and
                        #load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:1,0 with load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,1

--To get rid of Odroid repository gpg key error, run: Code:

                        sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 5360FB9DAB19BAC9

--To get hardware acceleration in Chromium browser put the following in /etc/chromium-browser/default (it works only if bpp=32 !) Code:

                        CHROMIUM_FLAGS=" --use-gl=egl --ignore-gpu-blacklist --disable-accelerated-2d-canvas --num-raster-threads=2"

Also, you will need to check the "Enable Hardware acceleration" in Chromium settings

                        Test with WebGL demo.

                        - Enable compositing for better desktop experience ( disable when running Kodi ! )
                        - Install smplayer
                        - smtube from Ubuntu Vivid does not work, but from Wily repository works, download deb and install with gdebi.

Thanks to all who helped get this working!

Thanks for the help, but for now i just interested in android and openlec because im not very confortly with linux, im only go to install openlec because for what i researsh they run kodi more smoth then android, but if you can help me i'ce another doubt, what is the best way to share folders or files on my pc and acess them on mxq throuth the kodi, im run windows 10 and i try to share and create a workgroup but then i cant configure correctly on kodi.

You can find a very comprehensive tutorial for enabling Samba Windows shares in Kodi in the Kodi Wiki. I haven't used Windows samba shares since Windows XP, but I expect It should be as straightforward as it was back then.

I've been using 5.95.5.2 for about a month on my HD18Q box. Overall, playback is great, no issues there. However, I've found a glitch that I don't know if someone else is experimenting:

                              * At apparently random times, the playback just stops. It is like the "stop" button on the remote had been pressed. The movie stops and goes back to Kodi. You can restart the movie right away and it will remenber the point in where it was (exactly as if you had manually stopped the playback). This happens maybe two, three times by movie, but it seems pretty random. It doesn't happen at all in 5.0.8.20.

Also, I have some other issues, but while they look like they appear more frequently on 5.95.5.2, I can't blame it for sure.

                              * Buffering issues. While my network is not great, I can measure (using iperf) a pretty stable 60Mb/s transfer rate from the NFS server to the MXQ box, which should be enough to playback almost any content, even assuming some NFS overhead. However, I'm having lots of problems playing almost any 1080p content, with constant buffering. This was not so evident in 5.0.8.20, in wich only highest quality content (like some BD Mux) had any problems. It seems that somehow network performance is worst in 5.95.5.2 than in 5.0.8.20.

                              * NFS sharing seems unstable. From time to time, NFS shares just stop being accesible from Kodi, while they keep been accesible from other devices in the network. To be able to access them again, I must reboot the MXQ, or the NFS server, or both (I've been unable to find a correct pattern). I can't be sure is it is an OpenElec problem, since it can be some misconfiguration on the NFS server. However, the problems happens much more frequently with 5.95.5.2 than with 5.0.8.20.

                              Anyone is having similar issues?

Overall, I've found 5.0.8.20 to be much more stable and usable in my box than 5.95.5.2. While I love to have Kodi 15, I have downgraded to 5.0.8.20 for the time being.
