I have no plans to introduce that change in my builds as I don't want people to fry their boxes. For overclocking you need a decent heatsink, like in ODROID-C1+:

Kszag - is Your ROM compatible with this box ?
Price is very good, but not for long time
No one has ever got a bargain on these boxes they're around £24 and that's the bottom line, cheaper and you take a big risk of buying crap!

Since I have decent heatsinks on my mk808b+ ...
Is there a way to add these myself? Or do I need to change the code and then compile everything? (No real skills in programming yet ...)

I have red light on my mxq v3_1 20151230 I can get blue light to come on using certain roms but they don't work. When I take out sd it goes back to red light. I have tried openelec and twrp I get blue light with the openelec and red with the twrp. I get errors on usb burner. I used an image file from one of the forums here and I got my box back up and running and i tried anotherone and I got red light. If anyone can please help a noob out and Point me in the direction of a good file to use I would really appreciate it. Thanks

kszaq Sorry I haven't got back sooner, been rather busy! Currently testing version in footer will try and give feedback by the end of today. Seems OK and suspend is back to being snappy after last Devel build from the 18th where it seemed to pause but did work. Will check vid playback and time updating from resume later.

(Not trying to be a smart ass) Because what you are saying about your box sounds very similar to the problems I was having with my box until I got the cyx fw to flash. Hope you get it sorted mate because I know how annoying it is to be in your situation ✌

Hello Jiffypop
I don't think the newer android version you have in your box is the problem, but if you want to try the version I am using, I suggest you first backup your version of Android using TWRP.
Instructions for MXV S805 :
You can use TWRP from this link (use TV-110 twrp recovery, it works perfectly for me):
The android version I am using is from this link, and the date of the firmware is 2015-12-28:
Now, to update the firmware, you can follow the tutorial from this link (you will need a USB A-male to A-male cable, I made one myself using 2 old mouses USB cables):
Note: I used a newer version of the Amlogic burning tool, from this link:
Now, for the openelec, when you save the OpenELEC image in the SDcard (using Win32DiskImager or some other tool for Ubuntu), you should see in your SDcard a partition of 512M with 3 files: aml_autoscript, KERNEL.IMG and SYSTEM
Then you just need to place the SD card in your MXV box, press the button under the box and energize the box. You should see the recovery Android robot with a progress bar, and after that the system should reboot in OpenElec.
Good luck. Tell me the results that you got..
