OK in the Imito 1080 ROM they changed LCD Density to 240 so it "looks" the same as 720P text and icon wise.

THIS was a big mistake! Some apps wont work and some apps will not even show as compatible in Google Play.

BUT... I do have to say it works well at 1080. The Android launcher looks good and works well. When I change LCD Density to 160, things are smaller.

I have a trade off to make here. AND DO NOT tell me to implement Paranoid ROMs yet! I am not there yet! OK!

I think I am going to make this 160 density for now. I will edit and comment well build.prop and explain how to change it if you so desire.

Also in my testing 240 density sucks! So I respectfully say DO NOT CHANGE IT!

ROM will be out very soon now. I am alost done testing everything but I wanted you to know whats going on and the problems I have run into.

I assuming that since 1080p is going to be based on the 1080p beta firmware posted by imito, the kernel would be the same and hence no additional optimizations would be included for the time being?

Thank you Bob, you are doing great work! I am looking s much forward to the new ROM.

        I have few questions
I plan to disassemble the unit and install some heatsinks, so it could take the overclocking. Would it be possible to unlock the clock rate in some future kernel releases so it could be modified by a 3rd party tool?

The device/ROM is obviously missing touch-screen device. Could a corresponding bundle/driver be added so that I could use touch-screen emulation in sixaxis controller app?

We dont have kernel sources and cannot use the generic ones out there because of the proprietary wifi drivers. So I cannot unlock the kernel.

                  Time Reset after Shutdown

                  Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry if this was asked previously. But I need to know if there's a way to stop my iMito MX2 from resetting time back to its default (sometime in year 2000) every time the device shuts down. Is this happening with anyone else?

I rooted my the device and reboots don't affect the time settings. It only happens when I shut down or unplug it. Appreciate your help

                  cheers

The unit has no battery so no way to keep the clock alive!

In date and time settings make sure to turn on to get time from the network. On boot it will then automatically adjust time for you. This is the only way to do it.

I have been thinking about this, recently for more than just the clock issue.
I may end up getting something like the battery listed below, to solve this issues. It should also allow me to finally use my TVs USB port for power, while not worrying about the device powering down and possibly causing corruption.

I am really hoping that as these device start to mature, the OEMs will start including a battery.
                      Thoughts?

                            1.4 Rom

Any way to install this rom from a MACBook?
Could this rom be installed directly from the Imoto running standard software and putting it on the sd card?

Have little access to a pc.

                            Thanks for any help.

I am back with a new ROM for the iMito MX1
I am calling this 1.4 like all my first ROMs. It is made from the latest 11/19 ROM from Imito. This is the ROM that solves the changing MAC address problem.

                            BUG NOTE:
Well this maybe not a bug but intended by iMito. Anytime the MX1 is booted AND the OTG port is plugged into a PC, it will boot with USB storage turned on! What this means is on boot up you will not be able to see the internal SDcard or the External SDcard from within Android. On your PC you see the removable drives because on boot they are mounted to the PC not Android.
Now you can turn this OFF once booted. Go into settings and USB. You will see PC connection is grayed out.
                            1) Click it and it will then put the check box in "conneted". Odd it is OFF by defualt even though it is really connected to the PC.
                            2) Now turn it off and it will unmount the SDcards from your PC and you can now see them in Android.
HOWEVER... Realize next reboot, it will be on again.
In my opinion this should not work this way but at least you can turn it off once booted.
The other work around is to always hook up the USB cable to the back micro USB port not the OTG port.
The back port ONLY powers the unit. There is no data connection on this port for PC.
This solves that issue. But remember the back port will NEVER connect to a PC or allow ROM flashes.
Only the OTG port allows that.

                            ________________________

                            Features in 1.4 ROM:

                            1) Fully rooted with the latest SU and SUperUser.apk
                            2) All GAPPs updated to latest. This includes the latest Play Store and GMS Core.
                            3) Debloated of unusable APPs and junk.
                            4) Cleaned up the file system so it is not fragmented! Basicly I used linux tune2fs when making the images.
                            5) I added a reboot APP that will allow you to reboot the device from the Android UI. No more unplugging the unit!

                            6) Full init.d support has been added! If you do not know what that is... ignore it.
Basically it allows you to install scripts that run at boot time.
If your interested, google search V6SuperCharger for a neat speed booster script.

                            7) I added the Xbox Xpad.ko module to support Xbox controllers.
                            8) I added md4 and cifs KO modules.

                            ____________________________________

                              Root Access ?

Hi guys, I hope this question is not too silly but here goes..I have Bobs
1.4 rom installed on my mx1 (love this rom on my mx1) and wondering if
maybe I missed a step to have root access?? I assumed that just installing the
rom automatically has root enabled. I d/l a reboot app as I don't think there is
a power off feature on this rom and when I run the app it tells me access denied as
root access is required. How do I verify that I have root on my mx1 with finless 1.4?

                              thanks in advance.

                              **updated info**
I downloaded a root checker app to see if I have root access which says i do but
when I try and use the reboot app it says access denied - "you don't have root access"...

im pretty sure I used this app before to bring the mx1 into boot loader mode which is what
i was doing before unplugging the device. any thoughts? tx
