    Hello All,

Does anyone know how could be possible to use VPN Tunnel with this firmware?
I want to use a SSL VPN (Edge Client, similar to OpenVPN) and I think the VPN TUN module is not installed

    Thanks!
    Chris

Maybe you can use this application to setup your server:
VPN is not supported I think, but you can have a look at other possibilities

ive attatched a pic of the error im getting with the flash tool. get all the way to step 9 successfully but then the flash tool gives error you see in pic. ive tried all the different usb ports on the pc. all the drivers pop up successfully installed. and the flash tool sees the device. any advice or guidance would be much appreciated. i am running the updated firmware posted in the forum that gave me root and the wifi mouse app.

edit-im an idiot. a reboot solved it. should have tried before posting. rom looks amazing

What "density changer" app did you use?

I tried DPI Changer from the market and it wouldn't run on this version of Android. I then tried LCD Density Modder (Free). Set it for HDPI (240) and it locked up on reboot at the animation. LOL It eventually goes to black screen. Well I guess it is time to break out the pin and recovery image!

Side note: Has anyone successfully loaded CWM or TWRP on this?

Oh, MK802III. Was running 1080p 1272 kernel. I'll be back there in a little while......

It also can work with "Poweramp" and a "CifsManager"
(Mount the directory, then point Poweramp to it)

I use "SambaDroid 1.0.3" for SMB on my "UG802"

(If you use usb to ethernet adapter, bind interfaces to: eth0)
Thanks, my problem turned to be way more stupid than that. Cifsmanager by default mounted the samba share in a folder where most music programs dont like to look for some reason. When I realized it I changed the folder and the music programs can now see the share. Very stupid. I will check poweramp anyway.

I have been trying to get NFS working but apparently the kernel does not have the necessary modules. I installed busybox and tried several "solutions" I found googling, but without success and ended up giving up since samba is working anyway, its slower but its working. Can anyone confirm that the kernel does not have the nfs modules? And does anyone know how to solve it?

my 2 cents is try rom toolbox to change the density. ive always had great success with this app on phone and tablet.

on another note, the 1200mhz kernel @ 1080p with font size set to HUGE is perfect for me. i have good eye site and about 12ft from couch to tv and alls perfect. i love it. thanks for the rom. and keep the douche bags at bay!

Thanks Dan. It worked like a charm. Set it to 240 in the build.prop. And now the icons are a decent size and I can see what netflix has to offer.

I bought ROM Toolbox a while back to change an icon in the status bar of my phone. I am still amazed at how many different things it can do.

Oh, and props to Finless and 2dark4u. Great work!

                      Installed successfully on MK802 III

It works like a charm on MK802 III too, but i have few questions:

                      1) At 1080p, why display-font proportions are so low? I can't read any text if i'm not close to tv, it's not about resolution, it's like a PC-Layout, but we know these devices are meant to run on tv. Any advice how to restore a mobile-like screen layout like the one in stock rom?

                      2) How to roll back on stock firmware, it will still detect a zip file on sd-card root at boot? Or do i need to do it through flash mode? Any advice on that?

That's all, Keep on with nice work!

Try adjusting the DPI using ROM Toolbox. I adjusted to 240. It worked for me and most everything is easily readable. Don't use the density adjusters in the market. They may work for you. But one of them(LCD Density Changer) locked mine up on reboot and I had to use the recovery method to get it back to stock.

                          Hi Guys,

First off, awesome ROM! - 5 minutes after I received my UG802, I flashed this ROM.

I've stumbled onto a problem, and I hope someone can help.

I flashed the 720 kernel & boot (I followed the Read Me to the letter) - Everything booted fine, and Finless was loaded successfully onto the device, however, I then wanted to flash the the 1080p kernel, I rebooted into the boot loader, via the reboot app, and then unticked everything except the boot and kernel options, as per the read me, I also selected the stock 1080p kernel, with the 1080p boot.img.

I clicked Flash ROM, it uploaded in a 'flash', (excuse the pun) I didnt see any errrors, but now my screen in black, no output - I believe this is a boot loop.

Can anyone give me any recommendations on getting this right?

Thanks in advance, and much appreciate!

Did it, it worked! I adjusted it to 260 and it's perfect. I just have 1 doubt, this will not affect the quality of 1080p movies right?

                              Hi,

I had the same problem on my RK3066 tablet but after restarting the tablet the fullscreen button magically appeared. Based on this experience I did not upgrade my UG802. What is Your experience does the problem persist even after restart?

Or You will get errors in many programs like Google Play market they don't know how to show content's when DPI > 240 !!!
                                gabbian0,

Maybe 260 is not so perfect....just so you know if you get problems.
