Nexbook AMlogic root WORK!

Recovery mode access is pretty standard: Turn device off, hold down the "Volume -" button and turn it on. It'll boot into a stock recovery.

I tried this and it immediately went into a mode that said "UPGRADING", then before it got much further it showed the following:

E:Bad bootloader arguments
"(null)"
E:unknown volume for path [/udisk/factory_update_param.aml]
E:Can't mount /udisk/factory_update_param.aml

What is this thing looking for?

Yes and I see file system is EXT3. So thats probably why.

I will make new package and we can try again.

Getting connection errors on the download, might just be that it hasn't finished Google's upload pre-scan. EDIT: Disregard. Internet Explorer strikes again (link works fine in Chrome). Testing install now.

Since I am a moderator I edited your post and no links are in it. Try not using the URL tag. Just paste the direct link in the post. When you save it, it should be fine. If you look at my post just above yours it has a link and it works.

There are three links in my post. They do not show up when editing - I have seen this myself - but the link text does appear in red. While editing, you can right click on the highlighted link text and copy the url to your clipboard.

But you don't have to go to all that trouble. Just left click on the words "update procedure" in my post and you will be taken to the page where I found it. The other links are "Googling" and "update file". These links all work fine, the problem is that the link text is not highlighted when viewing the post.

BTW, why did you create another thread for this topic and then abandon it?

I tried your update zip file and it wouldn't load it because it doesn't pass the signature check. I posted this in the other thread and have been monitoring it for a response. Is it possible that the update must be signed using Yifang's certificate info? Is there any way to get around this?

Same result, "failed to verify whole-file signature" and aborted. Hopefully it's possible to emulate their file signature, might have to wait for them to release an official update for something like the Netflix issue and copy the certificate / file signature.

The file Eegor linked to earlier doesn't pass the recovery 3e signature verification either, it was an update file created for a Google TV box. I'm checking other update.zip files from the Nextbook USA page for the other tablet models (Netflix fix, etc) to see if I can copy the file signature (hoping the certificate is not device specific).

I don't think it is going to help. I get the same signature failure with their update.zip file, but here it is (and here: http://www.futeko.com/forum/index.ph...thread&id=5555).

I don't think there are any update.zip files - all of the updated tablets are Rock Chip based, so the updates are .img files.

BTW, we are screwed if we have to wait for an update to fix the Netflix problem - Nextbook tech support told me there would be no ROM update to fix it, that Netflix would update their app within 1-2 months, but I think it has already been fixed in a recent update (I posted about this earlier). It could be a long time, if ever, before we see an update for these tablets out of the manufacturer.
