Nexbook AMlogic root WORK!

Weird, it's not hanging at all for me now. I have the files on the root of the microsd card and was able to reboot into a recovery and choose Bob's .zip file but it looks like it's still giving me the normal recovery 3e and signature verification fails. I even tried an uImage_recovery from clockworkmod6 for a Cyanogenmod10 ROM install on a similar device. which again booted into recovery but it looks like the normal device's recovery mode. I get an error about the "unknown volume for path [udisk/factory_update_param.aml] and "can't mount /udisk/factory_update_param.aml" but it still lets me run normal recovery commands including "apply update from SDcard".

What is the S/N for your tablet, or at least the first six digits after the "YF'? Mine is YF101210xxx. Just wondering if there might be some slight difference between our tabs.

I'm looking at the contents of that set top box rooted recovery file I found; the "Factory_update_param.aml" file it includes contains:

--set_efuse_version="version=1,mach_id=0xb8e"
--set_efuse_ethernet_mac
--wipe_data
--wipe_cache
--wipe_media
--update_package=/sdcard/refee120710bgzp-120827noapk-4ethernet.zip
--wipe_data
--wipe_cache
--wipe_media

Along with a uImage_recovery file, the usual system and META-INF folders, and a recovery folder containing the ETC folder (installrecovery.sh) and a recovery-from-boot.p file.

DO NOT USE THE FACTYORY UPDATE AML file! IT WILL ERASE and it WILL FLASH that ROM. This is something we do not want. We want to root it to get a dump to make a good ROM.

ONLY do what I say above or risk everything.

Hey wait.... if that uimage from the TV player works then used the update-signed.zip file from the TV player to root it. That is the same thing as mine but it is signed for that recovery!

I'm sticking very closely to your instructions, no worries there. I'm using your files and just trying different uImage_recovery files from various packages (renamed to uImage_cwm).

WAIT.... scratch that. That signed-update.zip wont work as the script in it mounts system as YAFFS. Now problem. I do not know what keys he signed it with so I cannot edit the update script!!!

That TV box root package contains a "Recovery" folder inside the .ZIP, is that safe to use or should it be removed first? EDIT: Nevermind! Saw your post right afterwards

Download this update.zip and put it on SDcard and use the uImage (rename to uImage_cwm) from that TV ROM. Lets hope this works!

I think that means yours was manufactured in September (0912), and mine was manufactured in October (1012). I wouldn't put it past them to change something in the interim!

Signature failed on this newest version. To confirm (just in case), I have the uImage_cwm from that tv ROM and your aml_autoscript file in the root of the microsd card along with the actual ROM .zip file above. It seems like it keeps booting into the device's factory recovery rather than the sdcard version(s), but this is the same process I used on the original one from your other tablet that washed out the screen.

Should I add back in the uImage file (now uImage_cwm) that you had eegor remove originally? I hadn't placed it on the microSD since your other .zip pack didn't include the file.

OK hang tight..... I am working on the signing.

On the sdcard we want the uImage_recovery from the TV player and it MUST be renamed to uImage_cwm.
So you understand the aml_autoscript is looking for the recovery with the name uImage_cwm. This is why it MUST be renamed! Also note the capitol I in uImage.

Now on SDcard should only be
aml_autoscript
the renamed uImage_cwm
and any update zip file I give you to try. We are trying to get past the signature problem now.

Hang tight I am going to sign this beoch with Google test keys. I do not know what the guy signed the ZIP with for his update-signed.zip[ but I will try this first.

Stay tuned and please follow all instructions. If you have a question about the renaming thing. ask. But do not leave any other files on SDcard other than what I said.

Downloading now. I'm downloading to my Windows machine and then sending it straight over to the tablet. I'll also try downloading direct from the tablet but that's painful without root explorer, swype, etc
