OK AMlogic guys I think I found an easier answer!

I found a Clockwork Mod that works on mine from SDcard! It's in chineese but we can work around that. So first test.... Lets see if it works for you. DO NOT WORRY, this doesnt flash anything! Your only booting recovery from sdcard.

Unzip it and put the uImage_recovery on SDcard.
PLEASE format the SDcard so we know it is good. It will ONLY work from external sdcard.

Now, power down tablet.
Insert sdcard
hold volume down and power up while holding volume down.
If this work you should come to a recovery menu in chinese.

Low level flash

I mainly visit XDA and Slatedroid so my apologies for not contributing sooner. Here's a Chinese tool that can be used to flash several of these devices at once. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2017866 I managed to wipe the NAND by mistake and the tablet is pretty much fu-barred and flashing fails at the first phase now. I'm about ready to send it back to Big Lots but I decided to take one final look here to see if something has been put together. Maybe you guys can flash something in with that tool. To get it in the proper mode tinker with the volume buttons + plugging in USB. I think vol down + vol up + plug in USB will work. If you see M3-Chip in device manager you're good to go. You'll have to turn off driver verification to get the driver installed, though.

You guys are smarter than I so I'll leave assumptions, presumptions, and speculation out of this post.

I have been down that road with the flash tool. My Ramos is a 8726MX not a M3 and the tool will simply not see the device not will the interface stay up long enpough for me to install the driver. I tried every combo of buttons, etc to try. So the M3 has some kind of interface the MX board does not have.
I also have studied all the posts and links you have listed thanks. But I cannot test any of this with a MX proc. So I cannot help these guys with that tool.

Also none of these guys want to brick so they are waiting for me to find a way to root the device so we can get a ROM dump. Without that, any flash tool etc is messing with death like you have found. So until nextbook releases a ROM they only way is to get root first and then a dump.

Once we get a dump, we can fix you too! I have in fact found and tested a SDcard method that will recover you once we have a ROM dump!

OK guys, as I said I made a locked down ROM for my Ramos that is like your nextbook ROM. That recovery from China works 100% for me. My ZIP package even unsigned WORKS! I think if this recovery boots from SDcard for you guys, we will have our root!

So I am waiting now for one of you to test it before I proceed.

hangs for me. Finless, is your amlogic a M3? I think it matters. From what I have read CWM for M1 will not work on M3. I know the Novo 7 Mars has the M3, but can't find CWM for it.

WAIT.... this is normal! We are not flashing a ROM here. So it is normal to see this.
The question is do you have a menu up above (in chinese) that you can navigate with volume buttons?

You did unzip the file and put the uImage_recovery on a NEW FORMATTED sdcard correct? SDcard is formatted FAT32 correct? Nothing else on the sdcard? Has to be unzipped so we have the file and NOT the zip on sdcard. correct?

Again this has to be a sdcard not internal sdcard. correct?

it wasnt in a zip folder
i will redownload it to make sure..
yes i reformatted the external tf/sd card from the tablet
then i put the uImage_recovery file on the external sdcard and rebooted into recovery

turning off the tablet, pressing volume down then holding the power button on until it boots into recovery ..
