Nexbook AMlogic root WORK!

Based on what we've been running into Bob is probably right about Efun / Yifang screwing around with uboot and the ability to use a non-stock recovery. They've got this thing locked down pretty tight! We can get in with the low level flash tool that wiped out the other person's tablet, but have nothing to replace it with.

Really appreciate your knowledge and help on this tablet, there are going to be a bunch of these amlogic tablet devices flooding the market from nextbook as seen here .. http://yifang.en.made-in-china.com/p...catalog-1.html .. maybe they should be released rooted, or atleast made easier to root from the production line.
Just out of curiosity , in what kind of time frame would you expect to hear back from amlogic with the firmware?

hey fin, I bricked my tab by accidant, might be a good thing though .. now i can test that amlogic tool with different roms.. only thing is i can only find 8 gig roms for tablets .. i need a 4 gig am 8726 m3 rom ..

right now its stuck in a bootloader loop .. lol .. goes off for a few then see the little green guy for a sec .. then he dissappears for a few .. then he`s back again .. lol

How did you brick it? You tried the reset button through the pinhole on the back, right?

I own F&L superstore. I sell tablets, but I also mod them with the help of Christian Troy, and I also have some good developer contacts at Amlogic and they have helped us work through some bugs and get mfgs to push critical updates to their software packages. I just happened to stumble across this issue doing some searches on something completely unrelated to the topic. So I wanted to help you guys.

I also am an Android fanatic and I love forums. Let's call it fate....

So I'm guessing this is a NEXT8P12? Cause when I send an e-mail to the guys over at Amlogic I don't want to sound like a complete idiot.

I was looking through an ainol novo forum , i found AML update tool with some rom files included in an update zip file, I was curious to see what the update include files for the flash tool looked like , well I loaded the flash tool, turned my head one second , clicked my mouse and bam, all she wrote , darn mouse jump tasks, 4000 nand flash formated, i clicked on the cancel but it was to late. there was a check box erase nand that i didnt check so i opened a .xml file and found there was an erase nand command in the xml file. Maybe Finless can look at the xml file. here it is .. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kq0k3uqkt6...g_progress.zip .. now im bricked i can play with this tool if anyone finds or has rom for testing, I can load it in the aml tool. I wouldnt advise using it, I dont even have recovery mode.
anybody know what files i would need to drop into an update.zip file and build a custom rom, or am i on my own on this one .. lol ..

If they don't own a trademarked and patented design they are rebranding. There's nothing stopping me from buying these direct from China and selling what wouldn't be considered to be a knock off because I'm selling the same exact product.

Im going to take break for awhile, reinstall win 7, its getting pretty buggy.. give the tablet a break for the night, ill be back at it in the morning. wish i could get a working uimage_recovery going. I have a dmesg dump, default prop, build prop, driver list, init files, system_recovery_from_boot.p. then I have some rom builds from other tablets, hopefully with some testing i can build something.
