NEW - MK808-B mini TV Player - Finless 1.5 Custom ROM

I have a MK808B, just arrived from Geekbuying.
I would like to connect it to my TV set, which has a odd resolution of 1440x900 pixels.
is there a way I can obtain such a resolution?

I installed like this:
- downloaded from this thread: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...stom-ROM/page8
-used the embedded 'ROM Flash Tool.exe'
- used 720p image (default)
-erased NAND (IDB)
-checkbox #1-7 ON, #8 OFF (default)
- log showed no errors.

I usually use CWM, but I'll try 'clean' flash for now.

tested:

- hw remote control RC11. Air mouse and keyboard works fine.

- bluetooth: ok, tested with a headset.

- gmail: seems ok

- wifi: ok. Copied a file into the mk808b. The file was 1597 MB, it took 1214 sec. Equals 1,3MB/s equals 10,5 mbit/s. Is this 'fast enough'?

- 720p: The rom defaults to 720p, good. My TV only supports only 720p.

- youtube: installed the newest version. Full screen still missing...

- reboot-app: I suspect that it does NOT dismount all filesystems before reboot!?? This can lead to corruption. The no-frill-app reports 'unclean shutdown'. See this thread: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?3561-Need-Clean-

- poweroff on statusbar: seems ok. no-frill does not complain here. The blue light DOES NOT turn off. Maybe possible to fix?

- Hide status bar: nice, thanks!

- google play: ok, but could not find onlive-app. Guess I did not search right?

- Soft volume buttons on status bar: ok

- RK Remote APP: works ok. but beware of the poweroffbutton on the phone-app. It powers off your device like there's no tomorrow. If you dont use it, uninstall the app. The service uses recources.

- google calendar: ok

- mount manager-app: ok for cifs, can even auto remount at boot. Fails to display special characters in filenames and foldernames. (æøå) Any tips?

- cifsmanager-app: ok

- benchmark antutu 3.1.1
(my cpu is set to min 252MHz and max 1416MHz, ondemand governor.)

Is this normal?

- cpu-scaling: Still the same 'problem'. cpu-apps (e.g. cpu-spy) reports that the cpu is locked at 1GHz even if its not. Fix?

- bsplayer-app: ok. But I have to turn on 'use alternative hw encoding' in settings to prevent garbelled videos. LAN mode is nice.

- mxplayer-app: ok. Fast forward is brilliant.

small request

Hi,
I have a small request if possible... Any chances of applying 2dark4u kernel option of changing the voltage for WiFi a bit to higher to get better results on WiFi? I replaced my antennas and I get 11Mbps tops to my router and they are not fra from each other and I got much better results on my mobile (Desire HD). If posible that would be great! I may try 1.6 beta today in the evening if I will have a moment. Thanks again for you hard work on the ROMs for MK's here Finless!

People that are ok with 720p, the newest Uhost2 firmware is compatible with the Mk808B original. I was using Finless 1.5 on my uhost2 and everything was OK.

The uhost2 kernel.img is 720p and 1416mhz as the uhost2 got a kind of heatsink inside the case. the system.img include hide system bar, screenshot and power off everything else is pretty standard. Got an Antutu scrore of 9419 on the original firmware.

Using the RK30tools, you can unpack the uhost firmware and use the uhost2 kernel on the finless rom.

Mine is a similar question: is possible to set the 1080i resolution? Istead the "p"? (My old tv supports only interlaced 1080).

NEW - MK808-B mini TV Player - Finless 1.5 Custom ROM

Hello again folks!
By request here is a custom ROM for the MK808-B

This is ONLY for the MK808-B (with Bluetooth) and not the regular MK808! If you flash the wrong ROM good chance wifi will not work.


Features in 1.5 ROM:

1) Fully rooted with the latest SU and SuperUser.apk
2) Debloated of china and other junk APPs.
3) Added hide status bar button to the status bar. To return the status bar go into settings etc.
4) Special add for this ROM. Full init.d support! If you do not know what that is... ignore it.
If you do, you can now install and use boot time scripts like V6 SUper Charger!
5) All APPs are up to date as of 12/28/2012! So you will not get any Google Play APPs needing updated.
6) Cleaned up the file system so it is not fragmented! Basicly I used linux tune2fs when making the images.
7) I added a reboot APP that will allow you to reboot the device from the Android UI. No more unplugging the unit!
It will also allow you to reboot to ROM flash mode and later when I add ClockWOrk Mod, it will reboot to recovery.
8) ADDED BONUS User APP space by default is only .5GB. I have increased that to 2Gig.
9) The Xbox XPAD.KO module is now injected on boot. This was by request! Enjoy!
10) CIFS, TUN and MD4 KO modules were also added by request.

hi, i was directed to the above mentioned link by geekbuying as my mk808b does not allow me to copy files to a flash drive, only shows 4gigs onbourd memory instead of the advertised 8 gigs and also it does not allow me to access my sata hard drive. the suggested that this rom might resolve all those issues. the problem is, the link is dead. can you please advise me what to do instead or re istablish the link.
