Read these instructions and see if they help.

If not then the ROM just does not have drivers for that specific 3G stick.

So folks... we have a new kernel in the philly tab and there are LOTS of changes in it.

FYI the new kernel appears to support yaffs too! Interesting... Yaffs is a compressed file system like cramfs but it RW and it is made to perform better in NAND memory.
              Something to look into.

Bottom line I will be cooking all new 10G2 ROMs based on these updates.

              Bob
              just 3 questions :

              * do you think it would be worth switching to yaffs (compared to ext4fs).
              * And if yes, do you think it will be difficult to adapt what you already did about ext4?
              * last question : how is the work about a clockmodwork like tool going?

thanks again for improving our tablets. I really appreciate your work.

                3G usb get's warm

                Hello, Bob.
I have my 3g dongle working , very well.
BUT my tablets get's very warm when i use 3G. With WIFI it doesn't gets that warm, a little ,but with 3g extreem hot.
                Is that normal?
                Thanks

I cant say it is normal or not. I have not used 3G stick yet.
But you have to consider that the USB port is powering the 3G stick so it is expected it may run hotter.

How do I restore the original firmware?

I have been using the Finless 1.4 since Bob launched it and it's great. Unfortunately my tablet has developed some issues with the touch screen and it will need to go back to Arnova. Before I do that I need to restore the original firmware. I have the update.img file but what do I do with it? Copying it to the root and rebooting didn't work. I'd really appreciate some help with this.

You have to flash the update.img with the RKBtach tool!

See this post on download for that tool and instructions. Even though it is for the nextbook, the instructions and tool is the same for all rk29 tablets. Since you already have the drivers installed in wondows you do not need to do that again. Just run the RKBatch tool and flash the update.img you have using it:
