MK808 "all models" Finless 1.7

No offense but, I still don't get why people complain about boot animations... my MK808 stays on almost 24/7 I hardly ever see the boot animation..., and even if I did saw it everyday, I would rather Bob spend more time on real issues than getting worked up for something so trivial... just my 2 cents

WimoRX is supposed to be for mirroring (but I have no idea how to use it ) but it would be cool to get some kind of mirroring, especially if we could use a tablet to simulate touch on the MK808

1 - regarding the boot animation. install any market boot animation changer and you can update it. if not you can get one from the web and copy to /system/media (if i recall well the location) then in the next boot you can have the one you want.

2 - wimorx did someone tested ? which is the client application?

Not to mention, the boot animation can be changed easily by replacing bootanimation.zip in /system/media .. I replaced it with the Nexus bootanim.. :-)

I tried looking for WinmoRX on Google but all I got is that is only for some MINIX tablets... so we need the "Client" APK to test it properly, but I have not found it

for what i have checked. it does only work on rockchip devices. i will try later installing the same app in other device and see if its recognized.

1) I will add the new libstagefright.so in 1.7c
I should have been doing that anyway and just forgot. So thanks for the suggestion.

2) I do not add APPs to my ROMs. Reasons.
A) Not everyone wants the stuff in a ROM! My ROMs are made to be fast and reliable and thus are debloated so user can add what they want and not have stuff to remove by hand. Also pulling stuff out of system fragments it and is a waste.
B) To legally add APPs even if they are FREE APPs, you have to get permission from the APP developer! Lewy's ROMs has stuff in it and I doubt he has permission to do that. Just because an APP is free does not mean you have the right to distribute it outside of Google Play! So permission is the correct thing to do and this takes time to contact the dev for the APP.

3) No comment on boot animation other than..... One man's art is another man's eye sore and you can't please all the people. So for my ROMs you get what you get. Don't like it? Go use Lewy's or someone elses ROM then.

Oh and guys... I have yet to find a client APP for Wimo as well

Quick Fix for mouse zoom

OK folks... for those that dont want to flash 1.7c here is how you fix your mouse zoom issue with 1.7b.

1) Go get ES File explorer from Google Play.
2) GO into settings for ES File and set root explorer. also set up to root, and mount system RW.
3) Download this ZIP and unzip the libinput.so file.
4) Copy it to your SDcard
5) Using ES file explorer, go into /system/lib and rename libinput.so to libinput.sx Or just delete it.
6) Copy the new libinput.so from sdcard to /system/lib/
7) Using ES File explorer, SET PERMISSIONS the same as other LIB files.
Basically check all 3 READ check boxes and the top write box (for user).
8) reboot!

Zoom should now work.

great answer and I totally agree with you the great thing about android is how customizable it is, set it up to your liking, download the apps you want, not everyone wants the same app as you, and that is the beauty of all of this

i forgot, but i will try to test wifiadb so we can do easy scripts to do the updated of files, instead of all the rom or complicated patches.

i used to use wifiadb to do all my test. before paking a rom. if iget time i will be doing this this weekend.

I love the work you've done so far, but I have some suggestions.
1) Could you possibly incorporate things like xbmc H/W acceration one (and add an .xml file with a backspace fix,) with the rom like Lewy's XTV 1.3???
2) Lewy used google's tv youtube app which is so much better than the regular youtube app; can you also include this in your rom? (i installed it on your firmware and it seems to work fine).

3) Change the boot animation again to something more like the one lewy used?

4) include apps like airpin (for airplay with ios devices).

5) is there anyway you can get miracast to work, or some kind of mirroing thing?????? Or is it incompatible with the wifi chipset in the mk808???????

6) apex launcher (customized)

I think that Bob makes roms for everybody, he cant include apps in market like apex without the app creator permission, and you can install them easy from market. About xbmc, he try to make the Rom with the most compatible libs and drivers for all programs, like the new libstagefrigh, you can install xbcm if you want.
People, lets give him a breath. He is doing roms for a lot of devices. And he lets the fun of personalize to us with our favorite launchers and apps.
