finless 1.7c and 2dark4u 1.4 kernel

I´ve reflashed all again replacing the kernel, I feel the stick seems cooler now.

Kernel version is 3.0.8+ root@dark-VirtualBox #133. Is it right?

Someone.. PLZZZZZZZ help

I just bought the MK808 4 with the 4.2.2 firmware. I wanted to flash with the Finless 2.1 rom. I downloaded it and started following the directions. I got to the "YOu should see at the bottom it says "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage USB" If it does not say that go into settings and make sure that
a) USB storage is turned ON
b) Under developer options, USB debugging is turned off"

Well I was able to get it to show up that it was detected but it would not show as a USB storage device. So I then continued to try to figure out where Finless is stating that you need to make sure USB storage is turned on (DON'T KNOW WHERE TO DO THAT?) and B) as well. I figured that I need to plug it back into my TV and go into those settings. Well the problem is now it will not load anything. I think I screwed something up and maybe removed the firmware. I went to the Rikomahic website to get the recovery but the link to the recover is not working. Can anyone help me with this. I have flashed many devices in the past so I am just not sure why I am having so many issues. Anyone that could help I would greatly appreciate it!!

Instead of trying to figure out the Android settings [which could be outdated easily because there are different versions and different ROMs which may just look a bit different], the easiest way is just to use the reset button method. Works every time regardless of the state of the ROM (unless you manage to damage the loader which is unlikely).

OK well I was able get through all the steps but when I go to flash it thinks and is working then gives me a USB runtime error or something in regards to USB not allowing the flash. I am using a win 8 laptop thinking maybe that could be the issue but its really frustrating. I just can not get it all the way through the flashing process.

Try other USB port. Disable antivirus firewall well all of it. Use the stock USB cable and a good ac adaptor. I used all stock for flashing and no probs at all. Used windows 8 as well.

does anybody knows how to fix xbmc drops frame rate, yesterday was everything ok today it started to stutter, it skips frames and drops it, changed rom to fineless 1.7c still same. I use 2013-06-19 build for xbmc.

Does NetFlix works on Finless rom? which version? actually i'm on geekbuying's rom, netflix works but still buggy, some freezes at all.

I had exactly your problem with Netflix. Finless 1.7c solved it.
Later on I've reflashed with the 2dark4you kernel (look for my posts above).
The new kernel didn't make any significant difference in my case (720p).

Both Netfilx and MKV/AVC videos in a pen drive play OK, some very rare (less than 1s) freezings. Go for it.

Updated and everything works now. Finless rom is way better. By the way, how can i change the nonsense boot animation?

Hello I have very odd problem.
Yesterday I flashed the hybrid ROM and finless 2.1 just for testing but I decided to go back to finless 1.7 because I realized was the best. Now here is the problem while in the flashing tool and BTW I tried with different ones Im unable to flash 1.7 ROM . I reflashed 2.1 with original parameter and with 1gb parameter and the thing flashed just fine. I reflashed hybrid ROM on top of that and flashed fine but yet again when I want to flash 1.7 I get an error.

That's all I get. Now I was messing around with it and tried flashing one file at the time and that did work. Though I once in the ROM I wanted to reboot to recovery and and android with a red exclamation mark showed up so I thought OK recovery is broken so I installed recovery with the sdcard method and that worked.

Does anyone have an idea of why I can't flash 1.7 normally. I ran out of tricks, have no clue now

Ah and BTW I wanted to report something else. I have tried to use my WD 1TB HDD with an unpowered USB hub and it does NOT read. If fact I get checking for errors. Now the weird thing is that I have an Equiso crappy stick with ICS 4.0.4 512mb ram, arm cortex A-8 and the same HDD reads just fine with the same unpowered USB hub so.... I'm SHOCKED. I can access all files and watch my movies, etc. Well has serious problems for playback that crappy low end device but the point is IT DOES READ MY HDD.

What would be the explanation for that???????

Maybe that one has better power supply. Try using its power adapter.
