Finless why you put the ID from samsung galaxy SII in the build.prof?
if you put the ID of a tablet such as the Nexus 7 not increase application compatibility? or the S2 is better?

I chose Samsung SII because for me it works well with Google Play. Just a personal choice. If you read my instructions I tell you about this and how to change back as I also provide the original build.prop in the rom. You just have to rename it. But since you are rooted you can change it to whatever you like! I did it because many asked so they did not have to learn to change it themselves.

I do not have WiFi on my ug007 with your 1.8 ROM.

I've gone back to 1.5 for now. please consider a1.8 ROM compatible with the ug007.

Showkit, is there a stock UG007 ROM around? I can make a 1.8 for the UG007 I just need the stock ROM for wifi drivers and BT.

Digger, Thank you for your reply. Not sure if you are trying to help or just being critical. Maybe you are new around here (I see you have only 1 post) but please try and not be critical when you know nothing about the ROM's. Have you read all of the posts in this thread? It is a "BETA" that means users beware and the idea is to try and use and report back to Bob. I have read every thread on the ug007 and nowhere do I see (maybe I missed it) that this ROM is not for the ug007 and in fact there is more than 1 post asking if this ROM will work, without reply. It was my intention to try it and report back to Bob. That's all. Now if you are a ROM builder or can reply with some truly useful information I would appreciate it very much. Thank You

I wondered for if you had found greater compatibility whit S2 ID and the option of the galaxy nexus 7 is for the screen layout and resolution.

Showkit, have my appologies if I hurt you so much. You can be free doing whatever you want but I had just tried to help you with reducing your own time trying to reach working wifi on incompatible device.

Hi Bob, I've been around for a few months starting with the ug007. I found your recommended ug007 ROM (the MX1) recommendation within a thread about a new official ROM from ugos supporting Bluetooth where you say "Bottom line I am not going to waste my time with this ROM. ug007 guys use the MX1 ROM. WAY BETTER!
ug00s needs to fire thier ROM makers... " a couple of months ago I also read somewhere on the Freaktab Forum that your favorite hardware is the MK808. I wanted to add a stick to another TV and I got a MK808 and immediately flashed to finless 1.6. Recently I participated in your "Beta" test of the MK808 1.7 and finally I was able to use XBMC as well as stream remotely from my Buffalo NAS. Having been successful with the MK808 1.7 I wanted the same for my older ug007. I searched Freaktab and could not find any newer ROM info for the ug007 after the thread with the quote above? I did read others were also asking for the correct ROM for the ug007. I did find a Beta 1.8 for the UG802 that being a "Beta" I thought I would try and flash to see if it worked. Well by now we know the UG802 is not compatible with the ug007. So at this moment I have returned my ug007 to the MX1 ROM. I know I and maybe others would like to see a separate thread for the ug007 and a Finless Bob ROM officially identified for the ug007. I think separating the ug007 would be less confusing. Lot of stuff is now missing that you removed or changed for HDMI Dongle specific functionality though.

The Nav Bar Hide (arrow down) and Swipe up to unhide is great especially for a tablet
is this a systemui and framework-res change ?

why do you stay with the .11 version of flash player it has a lot of issues with Video Websites and touch fails ?

Hmm the RKsettings app can also be very usefull for Tablet HDMI setup i guess as the main HDMI function is gone from Settings

For what did you leave the RKUpdate.apk in will it ever have a purpose the rkupdate service is only wasting memory currently isn't it ?

How can the initial boot be so fast ? (normaly it takes arround 5 minutes for other roms to setup)

Again really great work it must be the fastest and snapiest rom of all manufactures, have to benchmark it's On Screen Performance yet but it feels really snapy

Argh the Wifi driver is not the good one this one is connecting to slowly with automatic router setup (SMC)

Hmm the App Store Crashes if you click on "See all" user comments it displays the user comments but closes the App Store

Also the App Store closes when clicking on "More by [Developer]" i wonder if these 2 can be really tablet specific crash force closes, i guess rather these are rom specific stability issues.

"User also Viewed" and "User also Installed" sections crash too if click on one suggestion does this happen for Dongle users also ?

Install is also unstable (found out why the RKsettings app can hold the USB SD card connection up even if unpluged) though still the install process is crazy it starts over and over before the widget appears on the desktop

though it has very high latency of 1 second (but you can see they improved it quiete a lot from its 2011 state) so currently unusable for gaming but for media things like Pictures,Video and Browsing it would be Ok

Also i wonder if they using your rom there its the same functionality with the arrow down and Power Button for the Nav Bar

Im not sure where to start to fix this up for this tablet so unstable it is maybe a partition difference issue mostly that causes these instabilities

Maybe i just copy everything execpt configuration over to my stable rom and try that

Firstly want to say thank you for all your work. You actually make it worth buying these TV sticks. I had a quick question, tried searching the forums like crazy but couldn't find any answer.


Currently I have the mk802iii with the ug802 1.8 custom beta firmware. My tv stick is hooked up by Ethernet because wifi was a little too slow. I have an android tablet that I'm using the rikomagic remote app. But the problem is when I'm on Ethernet, wifi shuts off and i can't connect the remote app. Also the portable hotspot doesn't work on this firmware. The current rikomagic firmware it did work properly, with Ethernet connected and portable hotspot on.


Just wondering if you know a workaround.

Finless a really interesting behaviour is the Epic Citadel download from the App store my rom downloads a 16 mb installer (apk with licenese and resource download integrated, which downloads a 136 mb resource file) file your rom downloads at first a file thats 153 mb and then it brakes up downloads it again brakes up and then it finally downloads the 16 mb installer file.
Some really strange things going on here, maybe your rom downloads the wrong version that is incompatiblle with RK3066 and Mali 400MP4 and thus crashes ?

Just wondering if you know a workaround.

Had the same problem, i bought droidmote and its a lot better, has no lag and if the ip changes it doesnt disconnects.

Hello everybody,

I´m new here and it is my 1st post.

I bought my UG802 from China, I guess it could be a clone, but it´s working fine with this rom.
I did the ROM flash two times, on the 1st I do not change anything from the original files of the 1.8 pack.
On the 2nd time I used the 1080p kernel from 1.7 ROM, I choose the kernel @1.6ghz and in my caso was not an overclock, my device description is:
Operating System - Android 4.1
Chipset - RockChip 3066
Processor Frequency - Dual Core Cortex A9 1.6GHz
GPU - Mali 400M Quad-Core GPU
Memory - DDR3 1GB
Storage - 4GB

My first view of the beta ROM (I come from stock ROM), is that everything get better (wonderful job Bob!!).

Now I need a help to configurate other stuff:
- Webcam;
- Bluetooth with external dongle (my UG802 do not have it).

First thing first, great work ur doing. Not only of rom building, but, also, knowledge spreading. I knew nothing of android 4 month ago .
I've installed 1.7 (on ug802). First thing, antutu gave me 9000. (+/- 1000). I had difficulties with xbmc, no H/W acc. I've installed 1.8 and antutu gave 6000. I've decided to go with the kernell from 1.7 (720/1.2). All is ok. Antutu is aprox 7500.
In all versions the 720p video (xbmc) is not nice and neat. . When movig objects are on the picture there is an instabilty of the speed. (slowish, slowih, slowish, faster, and again ). The Mx is going nice and neat
Question:
how can I go back to old antutu, but keeping the new features of 1.8? , there are some other modules from 1.7 I should fash?

Hey Bob, Thanks for your help! AFter experimenting with the UG802 1.8 without success I am now using the "NEW - iMito MX1/2 - Finless ROM 1.7 (beta is over)" If you good cook a newer ROM for our ug007 that would be GREAT! A new dedicated ug007 new ROM topic or thread would be nice. Cheers, Joe
