Is there an easy way to allow the kernel to do overclocking with an external app like setCPU ?

I know that in the previous ROM, OC kernels were available, but I wouldn't want those clock speeds available until I run some stability tests, etc.. then by setting a 'set on boot' flag the app would bump up the clockspeeds after boot.

Could I just flash that 1.7 extreme OC kernel over 1.8finless and then start testing what speeds are ok, or do I risk having the device bricking up on boot as it tries to run things too quickly at startup.

Yes, you should be able to use any over the OC kernels out there with 1.8 ROM. I have not tested them all but I have seen good reports.

            Hi, Bob!

I have got an UG802 V2 with Realtek 8188EUS wifi chip. See the pictures bellow. I saw on the other forum topic (another clon UG802_9) you made an 1.7 rom which work with 8188 wifi chip. My mini pc is different inside than UG802_9. The "original" Finless 1.7 or 1.8 ROM is working fine for me except the wifi. Can you place the 8188 driver to 1.7 or 1.8 ROM or it's a hard work? (1.8 would better :-)

            Thanks for great Fineless Roms!

                      Hi!
The wifi chip is on the top left section on the pcb (2nd picture) You can see the gray colour wire left side from the wifi chip. Under this chip is a bluetooth chip. Both Mediatek. The MK802IIIs has MEdiaTek wifi chip and bluetooth, the MK802iii has Realtek 8188 and assembeled without a bluetooth.

                            Hi, Bob!

I flashed it. But I haven't got wifi connection. I try to reboot and unplugedd it form connector and pluged again the result was the same. Under Clone UG802 Stock ROM the wifi was fine. I don't understand. I have got Realtek 8188 too like another clone forum. Why doesn't work form me?

                                Thanks Bob,

But are the clock speeds limited to stock values on boot ? If not, it might brick my device before I get a chance to down-clock it ? Most cpu apps will let you try out higher clockspeeds before setting the new value on boot.

The 1272 Kernel is working great for me so far on 1.8, and want to take it to ~1400.. But I hesitate in flashing the faster kernels for fear it won't boot.
