but the mk908 does not support 5GHz, right? I thought only the t428 supports 5GHz

Sorry, you are right mk908 do not have 5Ghz. The USB-Ethernet maybe a good alternative.

USB ethernet is much slower than the WIFI. I got around 30Mbps on my 50Mbps internet access over wifi (the stick T428 claims that it connnects with 65Mbps to my router). The cx-919 has 5Ghz wifi as well but it is slower than the 2,4 GHz so there is no point of having dual band with the recent wifi drivers. ( the stick is within 1 meter to the router.

My windows notebook or XBOX connects without any problem to all of my wifi routers (D-link-857, 657, SMC-wbr or my old Linksys 160NL with DD-WRT firmware) at full throttle and I allwas get the 50Mbps download speed.

Cx919 has AP6210? Same as mk908 right? No 5GHz WiFi that I know of.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree it is slower, but the problem is when using bluetooth+wifi on same fequency with one antenna we have problem. Plus if you use a remote at 2.4 Ghz you are now with 3 devices on same frequency without adding mobile phone and all other stuff runing on 2.4 in your home.

I'm totally confused since I tried 10+ ROMs for my 3 stick in the last month and don't even know which one is plugged in right now. All in all the best speed could be reached on 2,4 Ghz and not ethernet or 5Ghz and the connection speed was always 65Mbps. Even the cx-919 dedicated outer antenna had no effect on speed form close distance.

The bigger problem is that video performance is much better from MicroSD card than over wifi although the wifi should feed the media player continuously. Strangely enough a double bitrate mp4 could be played without problem comparing the same movie in original bitrate in avi format. i TRIED ALL THE MEDIA PLAYERS! Mx pro, Archos, Wondershare, ES media player ....... No luck!

And the worst: the RK3066 has very similar video performance over WIFI. (forget the benchmarks if you want to use it as a handy media player!)

see if these cpu parameters help

I almost want to go back and see if this exists on a MK808 4.1.1 and see if this issue has been here all along even on 3066 devices?

                Hi everyone, newbie here.

Sorry for bumping a month old thread.

For those of you having jerky video problems and mouse movement solves it, try this trick, hope it helps

Download setcpu or something similar and set the cpu as

                Min- 1.2 ghz
Max- 1.6 ghz or whatever is the max.

                Please report your results

                  Question about modules folder

Does anyone know why there are two copies of each module in this system.img? For example: ump.ko and ump.ko.3.0.36+ I am just wondering which one actually matters. Also, if a person was to build a module for a device, would it matter that only one .ko file gets created? I hope that makes sense... just went browsing through the modules folder and saw the ¨clones¨ and got a bit confused. Again, thank you in advance for any help.^^

It's because all these drivers come with the Rockchip SDK and ROM makers just leave it all in there. You may remove all the unused drivers if you like.

How do I know which are the unused ones? Sorry to be dumb. I mean I know there are some network adapter drivers that I don´t need in there, though I´ll leave them. But say between ump.ko and ump.ko.3.0.36+, which is the one being used? I´m guessing it´s the one with the actual .ko extension but just want to verify. Sometimes I think things, and sometimes I am wrong.

Also, thank you for the reply.

Most are loaded by commands in boot.img init.rc and other .rc files. If you can look in those and see what file name is being loaded. However some are not insmoded and are loaded by the kernel. In those cases you sometimes just have to do trial and error.

Understood. Thanks so much again! Do you have a post that describes working with the boot.img in detail? Been meaning to learn more about that.

Not currently but I am actually making progress with new kernel builds... I have a couple that are very, very smooth, but not perfect yet - the problem is still there, which is what I´m trying to bypass somehow
