Changing PSU took Antutu from 15991 to 18007

Thanks a lot Justin. I ditched the PSU that came with the 908 and dug around for the most powerful one I have - which turned out to be for the ipad (at 2.1amps). Now I've got a rather more respectable score of 18007!!! Just ordered a 3.1amp from Amazon, see if it continues to improve!!

I see this as well in Netflix. Moving the mouse seems to smooth out the video.

Yeah it's weird... it fixes the problem in every video program I try. I guess I just need to drink about a gallon of coffee and keep my hand on the mouse if I want to watch something....

          Any gradients?

          Hey guys,

Was also thinking of upgrading from MK808. Therefore would like to know if the issues of rk3066 are "succeeded" by its next generation rk3188:

          1. color gradients and artifacts while playing vids
          2. hdmi sound passthrough

          Thanks

            Sixaxis,Touchscreen Driver

Will you add the virtual touchscreen driver for sixaxis users for the rk3188 device in your next rom?

Does this happen on the stock ROM as well?

I can tell you something is very odd with this kernel. Anyone notice just after power on when you start to use the device the screen blanks out for a second or two?

Nope not for me but I do notice that on boot up it hangs some times for a couple seconds.
Never noticed any screen blackouts but soon as Im to the desktop it does run pretty darn smoothly.

Yes I noticed it on the stock rom, which is what sent me hunting for custom firmware... not that I wouldn't have done that sooner or later anyways.

Updating without Windows / Mac OS. I have Debian on PC and a Nexus 4.

Thanks for your time and efforts on the MK908.

I looked through the zip file and included instructions.

I saw nothing there about updating without Windows.

                        Any ideas? :-)

. I've seen the mouse activity / smooth video connection on my Nexus 4 using an Apple Magic bluetooth mouse. I might have had the phone connected via miracast with a Netgear PTV3000 at the time. I also use a Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000. I have the blanking issue on a stock MK908. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with the frequent disconnections the bluetooh keyboard does to save power and Android is switching input methods as a result. I notice that in the notices tray there is always a request for me to Set up input methods. I finally realized I needed to click the bottom link on that and scroll to the bottom where there is a physical keyboard section. I set the physical keyboard default to English just now and I'm experimenting with the other options to see if I can get it to use the bluetooth keyboard all the time instead of changing to the Android keyboard after a few moments of inactivity from the bluetooth keyboard.

Also, I have had no sound from the MK908 since I got it. It is connected to an a/v receiver with hdmi input. I've used this same setup with my nexus 4 and the sound worked that way.

                          Aloha

Hey guys... after playing around a lot......

Please try this frame skip but use a wired USB mouse not a wireless one.
I think there might be some buss contentions going on here.

So the idea is. FLash the ROM and start over.
Use a WIRED USB keyboard and mouse. NOT a wireless with dongle etc. Wired please.

Than see if the skipping is still there and if it goes away when you use the mouse.

                            Thanks,
                            Bob

I am having the blanking issue *very* frequently while using a usb mouse in the full size usb port and a bluetooth keyboard with the stock os. I tried turning off bluetooth and the problem persists.

I don't know how the upgrade would be done from the devices I have: Debian wheezy pc and Android 4.2.2 nexus 4.

Also, I have never had sound come through on the hdmi interface. I was watching a Netflix video and there was no sound; no system or notification sounds, etc.

Thanks, Finless, for your efforts. :-)
