Tronsmart MK908 Android 4.1.1 - Finless ROM 1.4

Had the same problem with the stock rom. I think there is something wrong with the cooling for all I have done is to surfing the Internet. Have not stressed it at all. It works for about 3-5 minutes before the screen goes striped. Right now I'm very disappointed.
Do not know if it's a manufacturing error on just my MK908. Does anyone know how Geekbuying usually handle cases like this, warranties ect?

Just like with ALL the 3066 TV sticks, the power supply that comes with it is barely enough!

With the 3188 I am sure it is drawing more power. Your issue sure sounds like a power supply problem to me.
The 3066 sticks can get by with a minimum of 2 amps. My bet is the 3188 sticks need more!
I also know this because my PC USB ports have no problem powering 3066 sticks but it CANT power the 3188 sticks. They reboot when running Antutu. So I had to use a 3 amp power supply to get it to run Antutu.

Are you using original power supply? I plugged mine in 1A charger and it loaded, but as soon as I tried anything that would require more CPU/GPU power, it restarted. At 2A, its stable. MK908 has metal heat sink. I didn't have much time to test stability, but I run Antutu twice without problems. Roms are not as stable yet. Hopefully there will be 4.2 soon.

i flashed 1.4 rom for mk 908 . but i couldn't enter or setup playstore because it doen'st pupup the keyboard so i cannot type the email and password. is it a bug or not ?

i did flash it twice. but same thing continue.
i don't know why ? do you know that/?

I totally agree with you. Mine is not playing videos right and I tried it on both monitors with different android players. My review was not posted on Geeksbuying site that I wrote 2 weeks ago, and I read they have now sold all unites they had to people who will stuck with problems you are reading around this forum. Tronsmart mk908 will then in most cases finish in garbage. Geeksbuying is running shady business and they don't care about customers (as they didn't post my review), and they continued selling product that have loads of problems, that's clear. Hopefully 4.2 will fix video frame rate, but no words on when it will be released and it should have been 10 days ago. I am as frustrated as you are, as you can see.

Me too wrote a review and honestly tell the pro and con based on my experience but was not published. Perhaps I have mentioned a lot of issues related to the stock rom and till now, the review still empty. What is the use of having the review column but don't allow people to air their view. As long as the writer is verified buyer of the product, he should be allowed to air his review.

If the stock power supply is under power, then we the earlier adopters were really skinned and unfairly treated.

I have no response from Geekbuying yet about my issue. I plugged in the device just now and it was working for 6min this time, then the picture is striped and the device hang

Bob I found another bug in the 1.4 rom my internet is working via wifi and was coming up in the right hand corner high lighted in blue but now shows grey but the internet works fine and can surf the net using firefox no problem but playstore stopped working??
I have reset the connection a dozen times, rebooted the device 2 dozen times, and reset my wifi router over and over again but nothing changes..
Play store just will not work any more.
It was working fine all day yesterday as I downloaded and installed about 20-30 apps.
Also for the power supply I to am not using the original due to your post about not supplying enough power so I am using my cell phone PSU 5v @ 3a??
Is this ok or will I fry this beast to crispy critter status??

Thanks Bob, but people will mostly not read reviews here before buying product. I found this forum only bc stock rom was not working right. If stock worked, I would probably not have a need to look elsewhere. The point is that very small percentage of new buyers will ever find this forum BEFORE they decide to make a purchase. This here is more for current owners and those who are looking to upgrade. My dissatisfaction is with geekbuying not posting reviews on their site and leaving it to you to fix without even having source code. If product would not sell because of posted reviews on geekbuyng site, I am sure Tronsmart would assign few employees to fix it right away. Like this, they probably think all is well and lets make more of the same.

Never mind about the bug it was a google sinc issue that was screwing up becasue the time and date were wrong on the device.
Now to get the darn xbox controller to work.

3amp,4amp,5amp are all ok the device will only use what is needed just make sure its 5v & it will be fine

Please let me know if that works! I am told it is in the kernel but if they lied, then I have a module that I can try.

I do not have a Xbox controller so I cannot test.

In the ROM kit is a RKRemoteControl.apk

Loaded the ROM with no problem. Works great so far. I also can't seem to locate RKRemoteControl.apk.
