Thanks bob for this rom. We hope in 4.1.1 stable and super fast rom also for T428.

But Please, tell me how I can completely remove the server part of rkremote and if there is somewhere else in boot.img related to the app ehomemediacenter if you add this.
This part make my router crazy and degrade my wifi performances. Only this and then everything ok.

I can turn it off in boot.img
you remove the insmod rk_mirroring.ko
Or use a terminal and unload that KO.

Great work on fixing many issues. 3D is fixed and I scored as others 17k+ in antutu. However, while playing videos in either stock or MX Player there is obvious frame-loss and not because of lack of CPU/GPU processing power, but simply videos are not fluid (see driving action scenes for example). It seems like on place of let say 24 fps all videos play with different maybe 15 frames per seconds rate. I never encountered this elsewhere. This happens using HD or SW encoding.

Do you have any other TV stick devices that your comparing it too?
The movies I have did not show issues like this for me but I do not have any super high end 1080P videos either.

I have my Galaxy nexus when connected over USB to HDMI videos play fine. I tried MK908 on a different TV set and it has the same problem. So, problem with TV set is ruled out. Another confirmation is that while testing few different android video players, I discover android player which is not losing frames on current rom. That is "super Video, Floating& Popup": http://tinyurl.com/d3ss47c It would be interesting to find out why this one can what others don't. Maybe because it "floats" even in full screen? Are you sure you are not missing it? Can you download some 720p x264 action episode and check it out? BTW, thanks for looking in to it

Thanks Bob for your great works! Any possibility to add on output resolution of 1080i? I am still having no audio from my Sharp TV through HDMI. anybody knows the reason or simply some TV are not supported with Android TV stick on audio?

Hello,

first post from a complete mini-tv newbie, so please bear with me. Is this rom supposed to be 4.1.1 or 4.2.2? First the description reads that it's based on 4.1.1 but later on 4.2.2 is mentioned a lot.

I did flash my 908. Everything went smoothly and it shows 4.1.1. Is this correct? Also, I can not locate the RKRemoteControl.apk. Where is it supposed to be?

Ending the post on a positive note. This ROM is definitely a lot more faster and snappier to use than the stock rom. Thank you, Bob!

have problems with my unit. it boot properly but crashes after a few minutes. The screen goes completely striped and I have to reboot it. And after a few minutes the same thing happens again. it gets very hot and I have to wait a few minutes, or blow on it so it is cooled before it restarts. My MK808B is not nearly as hot as MK908.

Anyone else with this issue??

rom it is F'ing fantastic!!
I wanted to compare antutu scores with my laptop so I went to antutu.com and downloaded the windows version and ran it on my first gen intel quadcore i3 530 and got a 3D Rating score of 2565 and on the MK908 I scored 2885.
OMG how is this possible??
This $100 device is smoking my $600 laptop!!
I cant wait for next years model or even the new rom you do based on the 4.2.2 cause eric at geekbuying told me that the score on the MK908 would improve even more with 4.2.2.

Sorry to double post but, I have noticed that mine is getting a bit hotter with the new rom as well.
Nothing to bad but it is warm to the touch.
Then again I have only been running it today for only about 10-15 mins to run some benches.
Will let you know if I have any problems later tonight,by then I should have used it for several hours.

The kernel is unlocked so depending on what you are doing it can run all the way up to 1.6mhz.
So if you doing benchmarking over and over again then yet it will get hot.

If you get CPU control from goolle play you can limit the clock to say 1.2 and it should stay cooler.

Personally just like the T428, these things need a heat sink to run intensively at 1.6.
The T428 is getting a built in heat sink. I have not taken my MK908 apart yet to see if it has one or not. I will a look. It's it's like the MK808 using crappy silicon or heatsink tape, this can be improved easily with real thermal paste.

Had the same problem with the stock rom. I think there is something wrong with the cooling for all I have done is to surfing the Internet. Have not stressed it at all. It works for about 3-5 minutes before the screen goes striped. Right now I'm very disappointed.
Do not know if it's a manufacturing error on just my MK908. Does anyone know how Geekbuying usually handle cases like this, warranties ect?
