Tronsmart MK908 Android 4.1.1 - Finless ROM 1.4

This may be a dumb question, but will 3.0.8 kernels run on the rk3188? I mean.. is the 3.0.36 kernel just what´s used for 4.2.2 android, or is it specific to 3188´s? I personally would be thrilled to find any 4.1.1 rom or kernel that would fix that dumb hdmi video output jitter issue. I imagine there are not any earlier kernels for these devices. I love my 1.4 finless rom on my mk908 (minus the video jitter which happens on all roms and kernels I´ve tried) and would be perfectly happy to stick with 4.1.1 if it is possible to fix the video issue.

Don´t mean to ramble, just wondering if using older software may offer any kind of solution.

No, 3.0.8 don't works with rk3188, we are not sure if the 3.0.36 sources we have can run

Hey Bob, I've got a little request about external DVB-t usb devices. Is it possible add drivers to your ROM for popular dvb-t usb dongle. I've tried connect to MK908 my DVB-t device (hardware ITE_IT9135) but it dosn't work.

No Found RKAndroid Rock USB

Okay, so I am new to the Android Mini-PCs, but I have run some mods on other hardware, flashed BIOS on graphics cards, and other devices... and I am detail oriented and know how to follow directions. But for the life of me, I cannot get this MK908 to show up using any of the methods that you've included in the README. I ran the first ROM Flash tool, "no found", ran the alternate, no pink box. Used the manual pin hole flash and installed driver properly, rebooted, plugged the mk back in and ran both methods again, and nothing... I turn on USB storage on the device, and USB debugging is off. I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions?

RESET

1: Remove all cables and SD card.
2: Connect USB cable small end to OTG.
3: Hold Manual Reset switch down.
4: While holding Reset Down, connect other end of USB cable to computer.
IF your driver is installed correct, you will hear a sound from computer and the MK will be FOUND!
5: Release Reset.

I have followed the instructions just as they were outlined in the README, and as you stated, and Windows makes the bong sound, and detects the device, but the Finless ROM flash tool still says "No Found RKAndroid rock USB" any other ideas?

Just curious if you are running the flash tool as administrator? I'm not completely positive but I think you have to, and vista for example may need to be forced to run it as admin. Just a thought.

You have to change your PC . I've got the same OS Windows 7 64 bit on my Dell notebook and procedure works fine. Try to turn off your antivirus software.

Not Found USB

Get “USBDeview” from nirsoft.
USBDeview can See, Uninstall, Disable and other good stuff to all your USB ports at once.
If your driver is installed correct you should have a “Description” called “rockchip _usb USB Device” and the “Device Type” = Mass Storage.
I have used USBDeview to Uninstall ALL SELECTED USB to get fresh USB Ports. Sometimes I could not get an USB port to work because some old connected driver was blocking it.
BACKUP first. If you select all (Ctrl A) and then right Click “uninstall” you will lose your mouse and you have to power down using Power Button once all the ports have been uninstalled. (1 to 2 min).
There are other good helps you can see on NIRSOFT which might help you.

Got an answer from geekbuying now. Tested some. Sound on USB works. Power OFF works. (Blue light goes OFF). Will test some more!

Hmm.. thats what I use also. I really don't think changing your pc is the right answer lol... must be a driver issue of some sort.
