Finless, First let me say thank you for the work you do. I have a MK808 that is actually usable thanks to you.

I plan on getting a MK908 at some point in the near future, but first I was wondering if you have had a chance to open up yours.

If you have, or you do, can you list the dimensions for the CPU/NAND/RAM etc that needs to be covered by a new heatsink.

I would like to have new heatsinks and everything ready to go before I get the 908. Otherwise I'll be extremely antsy having to wait for the heatsinks to arrive in the mail while the stick just sits on my desk lol.

    Thanks again!

      Frame Skipping Poll

So what is the general consensus on the frame skipping issue? Does everybody have it with the stock ROM, and if so, how many see it with the Finless ROM (In addition to Peteus)?

That’s really my only issue with my 908 at the moment, but it’s a big one. I’ll probably just shelve the thing until I know there’s a ROM out there that will fix it 100%

Just some frame stuttering in antutu or watching some HD video's with original rom but it all went away with the finless 1.4 rom from Bob.
Also to Bob the xbox360 controller is working with the new rom on the MK908 but still having major issues with the 1.7 rom for CX803.
Dont know if I should try swapping the Xpad.ko file from the 1.4 rom for the MK908 to the 1.7 for the Cx803??
        Would that even work??
I am just at a total loss here with this issue

Great work on fixing many issues. 3D is fixed and I scored as others 17k+ in antutu. However, while playing videos in either stock or MX Player there is obvious frame-loss and not because of lack of CPU/GPU processing power, but simply videos are not fluid (see driving action scenes for example). It seems like on place of let say 24 fps all videos play with different maybe 15 frames per seconds rate. I never encountered this elsewhere. This happens using HD or SW encoding.
Ups! Then this means stutter issue still continue in rk3188 too. I own rk3066 and have exact same issue.

            Ethernet and 2nd USB port

Thanks to Bob my MK908 is awesome. Most of the functionality works as expected. Two issues that I've run into so far however.

I've tried 3 different ethernet devices and none of them connect. These were all attempted via the standard USB port and through a powered hub connected to the standard USB port. I've noticed that the "Use Ethernet" section in the "Settings" menu will change to "Connecting" for a minute, then time out and change back to "Unconnected". These are devices that all work on my old Asus Transformer running 4.0.3. Anyone else have any luck with "Use Ethernet"?

Also, I have not had any luck connecting anything to the 2nd mini USB port next to the standard USB port. Keyboards, mice, powered USB hubs, nada. Anyone get anything to work on the mini USB port?

Again thanks to Bob for all his efforts. And to Geekbuying for a prompt delivery.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the MK908 is powered through a PS Vita power supply (in case anyone is wondering about power issues).

              Frame jittering & skipping

I don't think that has anything to do with CPU/GPU lacking power/speed or HDMI signal. I think this is something on how encoding/decoding is implemented on this hardware. It is like watching badly transferred video from different systems, like badly transcoded video of NTSC 24fps video material on 25fps PAL TV set. It feels like frame rate is out of alignment, therefore jitter/skipping you see especially in fast moving scenes. Very interesting fact is that all android video players have that problem except one. This may be very helpfull for those who are figuring out this problem. Apparently, "super Video, Floating& Popup":http://tinyurl.com/d3ss47c will have no jitters whatsoever! however, once I installed Bob's 1.4, even that one started jittering videos so I flashed back stock rom to be able to watch videos. Could you try this player on stock rom and see if jitters are gone for you?

Jerky video - Netflix and others

I am still experiencing laggy/jerky video with most video apps... One interesting sidenote is that it plays smoothly as long as i keep the mouse cursor in motion constantly... in all video apps I try. Just wanted to let you know about the issue.

Edit: I also had this issue on stock firmware.

LOL! You are totaly right, so long I am moving my mouse, MX Player plays video without jitter. Its definitely firware/software bug. How do we solve this? Maybe Tronsmart amd Rockchip developers do not have idea about this whotsoever.

                    MK908 Antutu score of 15991

What am I doing wrong? I installed Finless 1.4, no problem. I had a bit of trouble getting flash mode, but for some reason when I removed the case it went into flash mode. There seems to be a case open plunger switch on one end of the board. Got flash mode, installed finless 1.4 (not a total newbie - I've been through the same on my MK802iii). Running from the supplied power. System-About confirms I'm running build "rk30sdk-eng4.1.1 JRO3H Finless MK908 1.4 ROM test-keys". But my Antutu score is so much lower than what you guys are seeing, at 15991.

Yeah you guys should try using a 5v 2-3a psu and that should fix some of your issues that is if you have flashed to Bob's 1.4 rom.
I have seen several times now where other people besides bob and I that has had issues with the stock PSU that came with the unit.
As for your Antutu score being lower how many apps do you have installed or running in the background??
That will make a huge different in the score being higher or lower.
The more apps installed or running the more resorces are taken up and the lower your score will be.
Also to fix some of the video issues, you need to have date and time set up correctly along with google sinc and allow updates to update your media players as most of the media players are built for using single or dual core and not optimized for quad core yet till the update happens.
I had the same problems every one else here was having till I did these things and now I am stutter free for the most part.
Let me know if this helps guys.

                          USB Audio Support

Is seems that the USB Audio support is missing from both the stock and the Finless Bob 1.4 firmware.
Or maybe I'm missing something, since it should be supported by the Android 4.1 kernel by default.

                          Any ideas?

USB audio support would make it possible to plug in any USB Audio device which supports the generic driver (like those 1$ soundcard dongles on ****) so you could use a jack headphone + microphone with these Android sticks. Then using Skype would be possible.

                              USB headsets are another use.

USB DACs are another one, which would be good for superior audio quality (bypassing the internal audio interface) and streaming 24 bit / 96 kHz lossless audio directly to the USB capable sound system.

I dont think there is enough power pluging a headset into the unit, I am almost possitive you need a powered USB hub then give it a try.
