You deleted music apk also so cannot play music! Should get rid of musicfx instead. You might also want to consider changing the default rotation lock app to ultimate rotation control because that one takes effect at device boot so users wont have to manually change from portrait to landscape after every restart.

I have been having some issues with wifi also, in the past hour It must have disconnect at least 10 times while doing random things like downloading from dropbox, or the playstore or even just streaming video of the wlan. I do not believe it is an interference issue because none of my other devices get dropped only this one, but I am going to try a few things and see if I can get better resultsComment

I know very well how the wifi work on many hdmi sticks and in this rom work very very well. But is normal that you can have disconnections if your router is not close to your stick. I have my router close to my stick and the wifi connection is excellent. Wifi issues
I am having wifi issues too. My router is 1 floor away and I have tried both the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz too. Connection is dropping. Do not have any issues with other wireless devices.

For the others with wifi issue. I can't reproduce the problem, my wifi connection is always active and i don't have any drop. How can reproduce the problem ?
If i can reproduce the problem i can understand.
I can stream also videos 1280x720 without problem from internet without any problem. I don't undestand this situation.

I changed my router from 20 / 40MHZ this morning to only 20mhz and it actually seems to be doing much better (knock on wood). Ive been using it all day since making the change without a single disconnect so well see. Havent gotten around to testing bluetooth besides switching it on but imma set up sixaxiscontroller here in a little bit and make sure everything is working with that. Great rom though I hope sometime soon we can get cameras working on this thing because thats about the only thing it is missingOriginally posted by strauzo View PostComment

In my experience with TV sticks for a year, wifi has sooooo many variables that no way can you fix everyone. Old routers, routers that did not implement to specs, etc.....
Right now you are not getting enough input to know if this is an issue overall or just a few with other issues and this includes CHEAP ASS Linksys wifi routers with LOTS of issues and bugs.
Personal opinion after doing this for a while.
I myself have Apple Airport Express Wifi hotspots and I seem to NEVER have any problems even with distance. They have been fantastic devices for me!
So like you Stauzo, I cannot repeat some wifi issue some seem to have.

Agreed more input is def needed. Networking is what I do for a living so this is not something I am new to, but it is a very true statement that there can be multiple factors involved when users experience issues with their wifi. Personally I use a linksys e3200 with dd-wrt firmware, its a great device and has been running rock solid for me with multiple devices without issue for quite some time, so im not quick to blame it or the environment. If you guys want to try and replicate try downloading a large file like the xbmc.apk or multiple files in a row from the play store thats what was doing it for meOriginally posted by Finless View PostComment

I am not going to tell you what I do for a living or anything like that. But one thing I will say is I would never use a Linksys device for any sort of business work. No freakin way!!! Sorry I have been down this road before and seriously... when you have sales reps coming in with every cheap ass device under the sun and wanting to be able to connect without problems. Linksys is FAR from the answer.
Now that was 2 years ago with my experience and maybe things have change some, but once junk.... Well.... I just wont go there again especially when I find a solutions I do not have to problem solve for people!

Well anyway... might be part of your problem honestly! Sorry but I would not doubt it for a minute. No offense but after MUCH experience... I would not touch Linksys products with a 10 foot pole!

The only thing linksys about it is the name on the outside of the box (and even that says cisco). Google dd-wrt firmware thats what its running. But like I said if it effects only one device on the network, and one that is no more then 1 ft from it, that is not the router. The t428 has had wifi issues out of the box and this rom uses the same wifi as the stock rom, so of course it is not going to be perfect. Have you even tested this firmware yourself yet? If you havent you might wanna give it a try. You would probably also be interested to know that cisco is probably the #1 leading manufacturer of business class networking devices, you would be hard pressed in finding another more reputable brand.Originally posted by Finless View PostComment

Well... this thread should not be a debate about how good routers are. So we can move that to another thread if you like. Just pointing out that routers ARE NOT ALL THE SAME!
Yes, I know all other of most peoples devices work even with the crappy Linksys boxes. But this is a Android OS built from open source code. Not well tested with every device and so on.... Probably implementing the "pure raw spec".
Am I not saying because this an Android device that the problems is the router... No I am not! But I am saying that sometimes specs are broken and propagate so a pure SPEC device can have problems.
Again I will just say this. My wifi router and it's "repeaters" throughout the house, give me NO ISSUES...
Sorry but this is why I cannot recreate the three things some users complain about:
1) Connects at 65mbs then drops to 5.
2) Constant disconnects.
3) Slow data throughput even with a good connection.
I am being very serious here... I do not have these problems on any ROM (except for a few which I fix)

P.S. I still hold Linksys is garbage and sold to home users because the price is cheap and can be bought almost anywhere! SHOW ME ANY company using Linksys as their wifi distribution solution... I don't you will find it! There is a reason for that! Like the stock ROMs that come from China.... SAME CRAP!

Linksys is far from cheap. If you bought a 30 dollar basic router and expected it to do backflips then that was wishful thinking lol. Most serious businesses dont use home routers for wireless, they user access points, expensive switches and business class gateways that can cost upwards of thousands of dollars, so basically you get what you pay for. I have in fact flashed this ROM just tonight like 2 hours ago! No surprises for me! I did not put it thought extensive testing but wifi "seemed" spot on. Go figure....
