From many testers around the world and after many days of tests. Try the videos suggested in the post above to see by yourself.

Don't use strange player to test. Only the best player like mx player, youtube app and if you want xbmc libstagefright version.

All other tests can be false tests.

But you can compare all video player that you want if you want compare only with other roms.

Before testing, specially if you have used other rom with ehomemediacenter inside, restart your router. Because this app can make crazy your router. Otherwise you can't test how work well also the wifi.

        Well I´ve tried it with mk908 stock kernel as well as a couple of my customs, and I can still see jitter. It´s roughly where I´ve gotten to with bobś t428 alpha test rom. It´s 4.2.2 so I suppose I have to apply netflix workaround with xposed framework to get netflix to work.. It was scrambled. I´m about to try mx player and... skippage there also. Hmm... I also wish the mouse right-click was mapped to the back button like so many other roms ; ;

Thank you for the suggestion though.

and yes I have MK908, not t428 so I cannot use t428 kernels.

Right now i see some News Rockchip has Updatet there SDK to 2.0.
This says that this will Improve the Performance.
I think we must wait until a Rom for RK3188 come make with the New SDK.

I´m almost convinced that there has to be a variable that can be changed in one of the source files to make it constantly refresh frames - be it buffering or whatever. I´ve also tried some things with mapping screen1 and screen0 both to the same framebuffer so it wouldn´t run video in a separate framebuffer but no go there either. for giggles I even replaced the hwdecoder file with that of my ug802 finless v1.7 and that caused serious problems. I´m hoping the sdk update will help things along as well but this really doesn´t seem to be strictly performance, but more the way something is being done.

Well on t428 i don't have any problem on videos with the Nexus rom. I'm sorry for you. In 30 minutues you have made a new rom for mk908 , installed and tested. Good

The problems are in the rom. The source code in services.jar and in framework.jar is not standard android but there are many chinese patch and many things that ruine the stability of the rom.

All rom based on real android source code without rkremote server part, without zoom function and fake 720 to 1080 scaling and without the negative systemui.apk are 100000 times better.

Am I safe to replace those files in the system.img I´m currently using? I´d give that a try... Probably will anyways. Though like I said I still see jitter. It´s definitely much better than alot of roms though so it may help.

and what do you mean by ¨negative¨ systemui.apk?

Oh and I wanted to point out that the only difference between our setups is the kernel... I used everything else from nexus rom. So if you don´t see skipping and I do, with the same system.img, then either it´s in the kernel, the hardware, or our eyes work differently... It seems that way to me anyways. The mouse movement still smooths things out. And I´m not saying that it doesn´t work nicely, because it really does. Just that the problem is still there really. For me anyway.

And just to show you what I´m working with. The UG802 1080p unit is the one I use for all video watching. It´s smooth as hell no matter what. It´s also heatsinked. I don´t need them next to each other to see the stutter, but my point is that I have a wonderful setup for comparison, and I see the stutter if it´s there. I´m always happy to test any rom anyone has to offer that may fix this problem. So all suggestions are appreciated.

for now you can use the kernel and wifi module posted by me to have a mini ubuntu sever on your T428.

i not share again the .config becouse i'm testing it also with other source , but don't start up the device. I have to make some improvements but more importantly I want a working version with the source code of Galland.

For now only the soyrce code of Galland have inside the mali stuff

i'm working, but there are some problems in the source code of the mali stuff that create problems on rk3188 devices. Instead on rk3066 work.
I want to make a few modules (for usb serial converters and ethernet adapters). I will try to compile the modules using another .config file and insmod the modules. I hope it will work. Any thought?

                      Thank you.

Told ya jitter was still there! The new sdk is our only hope as this is an issue with the base rock chip rom and /or source

For fun I tried flashing my mk908 with a system.img from one of my ug802 sticks - finless 1.7... It was a giant FAIL.

I'm thinking which can be the differences from me and you when we make tests.

In all my tests i use only DroidMote no phisical mouse or keyboard or specially an airmouse that procuce interferences. And on Nexus rom all videos are very good.

I don't think that this can be the difference, but please can you test with my same configuration (only with DroidMote and not other input devices attached) to see if is possible that phisical external devices cause the jitter video problem?

Many of my testers that watch video well, are using like me only DroidMote. One my friend with an airmouse instead say that he have problem.

                            Make a test please.

Yes it must work, if the modules are not inserted in your actual kernel

I tried all the roms posted in this thread,

in the original 4.1 and in the pipo rom the video stutter is clear, but the rom performances are good
in the cube rom the problem was still there but less noticeable,

in nexus rom I watched many videos from youtube, mkv>10gb, 720p, streaming from lan or from internet
using both mx player and stock player no problems

to be sure that the pointer doesnt affect the video reproduction I disconnected the remote, no difference

I'm also convinced that there is a margin of improvements but this nexus for now is the best rom available, many times better than others
