Look this is native 1920x1080 resolution, the video is true 1080p resolution(if you play 1080p video). BUT this rom just performs best with 720p videos and not 1080p ..it's simpler than you thing
No mojo's here to "make" this seem bigger. If you play a 1080p it won't be as smooth as if you play a 720p video
Get it? ..I don't understand what troubles you, I really don't.
To make things a bit more clear. You've got a tv or monitor and you plug in the stick, when you have 1080p monitor and that's the max of your tv/monitor then you have native resolution no upscale of any type. When you play a 1080p video it's a 1080p video playback but it's not as smooth as if you put a 720p video in your 1080p tv/monitor, of course it won't upscale any resolution, the 720p video playback would be 720p playback ..that's it!
The rom is optimised for 720p playback and not for 1080p ..but that doesn't mean you can't see a 1080p video, again it won't be as buttery as 720p but it will work.

And if you set the settings to 1920x1080 on android setings you still dont have a real full hd resolution. It is just upscaled. Google a little bit around or search the threads around here. Cheers

P.S. 720p vs 1080p doesn't seem the same to my eyes, I mean the smoothness. With 720p video it rolls better but on the other hand it might be just me, l8r with this test ..according to you it should be played just fine it will downscale to 720p so no big deal.

Anyway you can test a 4k video and see how it works and post the results on a new thread about video playback on the rk3188 devices

I didn't say that the source would be 4k, just upscaled re-encoded video. So based on your theory before your story can't be verified
..that was my point, happy you confirm me(if you didn't get it, I mean that downscaling a video realtime requires extra power and can't be avoided if you just play the video as it is no matter what, so I don't believe we have the power to downscale a video realtime ..make it look like it's the original source with no performance penantly)
P.S. I'm confident that the "4k video" would suck, it will go very slow.. but what the heck I'll do it(after a few hours of cs, I wanna remember old days with my pals heh cy l8r)Last edited by CrAcKeZ; 11 November 2013, 19:42.

Need Help - MK802IV CPU Frequency Problem
Hello Sam
I buy new Mk802iv 8G SN 21308**** last weekend, and have a problem with cpu frequency:
Antutu details show cpu frequency max at 1416 MHZ for my original stick , but is not the frequency 1608 MHZ that shown on product specification and on print screen of antutu of the product in the official web page.
I use always the power supply that came with the product.
I upgrade the FW to the last official ROM but still remain de the same frequency (1416MHZ max)
Then Install your Kernel moderate OC "1080p 1.7ghz ram 1000mhz", on this ROM but still at 1416Mhz Max.
Is a hardware problem with my new stick? What I can do?
Please help me with the problem.
Best Regards
