        4.0.1 Beta 1 feedback

Installed OK on top of previous MM Alpha.

Very fast boot up time much improved on LP.
        Navigation and status bar present.
Power button, when selected just takes the box to sleep mode although not a great issue because as root is working, an app can be installed from the Play Store (Petrus reboot in my case)
UI as usual is very smooth and responsive.
Connect to Pc works but only when set to PTP. MTP does detect a connection but the R28 storage cannot be accessed from a PC (Also note that MTP default is reset after a reboot)
Still no access to external SD card (not in list of fixes but will keep it in the feedback list)
When trying to access Display in settings, the error 'Unfortunately settings has stopped' is returned. All other settings that I accessed seemed to work fine.
USB drives accessible (Only tried Fat32 so far)
WiFi seen on both 2,4 and 5Ghz channels and connects to each without issue.
        5Ghz speed very impressive.
        Ethernet good too.
Chrome web browsing nice and smooth and fast response to loading web pages

        Video Playback

Youtube stuttering at 720p and 1080p
iPlayer also more stuttered playback than I have seen before.
MX Player Pro 1.8 with custom audio codec shows excellent and smooth results pretty much all round for all the files and formats that it supports.
Colour reproduction all round crisp and vivid.

        Kodi

Tried a couple of forks of Kodi, including the Superceleron one that I have used previously and one based upon the latest Rockchip sources and neither would play any video, only audio and then only after a delay of a few seconds.

Resorted to using the official Kodi app from the Play store, which is OK but of course without direct RK support, playback is always going to be variable, so not worth reporting back on that.

Alas...can't come to the party if Kodi isn't invited. Signs of stutter-creep in other video playback too..Maybe I should try Kodi handing off to MX Player in Alpha 1?

Did MX Player with custom codec play at 5.1 or was is still stereo?

It may be a long wait before Kodi works well on RockChip. It seems that the Kodi group gave up on RockChip due to coding conflicts. Even Koying stopped supporting RockChip in SPMC.

RKMC actually works great on RK3288,RK3368 & RK3229 devices on Lollipop.
4K video playback is perfect and HD Audio is fully in sync in Rockchip's own Kodi project.
AMLogic Kodi Android support is also going to be dropped and amlcodec is not present in nightly Kodi builds anymore.

1 - i changed the behavor of the power button. If you click the button the device goes to sleep and if you do long press on power button it will popup the power menu.
2 - Display setting works fine for me, no crash! maybe it's caused because of uncorrect rom-flash. Please reflash the whole rom again and dont forget to format the nand before
3 - i don't see stuttering in youtube, maybe lower internet connection? can someone reproduce this issue too?
4 - rkmc doesn't work atm because of missing some rockchip's binaries. I hope rockchip will release the missing stuffs for MM soon.

                    1.Not work absolutely on 4.0.1 beta1
Tolerably works SPMC and KODI from playmarket(no sound when playback starts, but appears after a few seconds(or after FF, or after enabling/disabling "direct out" in kodi)).
                    2.Microsd-not work
                    3. Xposed modules works but some modules not work
correctly(possibly on Marschmallow in general). CPUTemp does not want to draw on display any. But another modules works good(Fake wifi, youtube adaway)
4 Camera sometimes work, sometimes not work. More - not work
                    5. HEVC 10bit - not HW work on any players, only SW

I meant RKMC works great on Lollipop.
Maybe Rockchip will also release new libraries for MM when it is more stable.
The other things in MM I think will also be fixed soon by Wasser as Rockchip release new improvements.

Still stereo at present because passthrough is not available in MM yet.

                          Thanks for the clarifications.

I have a more than fast enough internet connection, using gigabit ethernet, so it should be fine from that perspective although at any one point in time there is always the possibility of intermittent connectivity, so will keep trying to ascertain consistency.

I'll flash it again to see what happens with the display settings. Odd that it was the only one not to work though.

Fingers crossed that RK will release the appropriate binaries.

You can follow the guide here and follow the OP for Kodi settings for RK3288.
